I really haven’t had a cheesesteak from any major sandwich shops I like,… all of them suck imo. I pretty much go Italian sub cold at all of them. JM is my top pick but I enjoy Firehouse and JJs too I guess. I load that thing up, love their cherry pepper relish and always put vinegar too,… We can get the large 18 dollar one at JM and it feeds me, the wife and our youngest,… we all like it the same way so that works. The subway one I had last week wasn’t terrible but it was a huge step down,… especially at 12 dollars. It was that or gas station food though so I’d still get it in that situation

Part of it for me is that my alma mater had a trash dining hall and our food options outside of that was a single hot grill and a subway...so we all ate our fill of subway in a matter of years. I can count on one hand since I graduated over 10 years ago the number of times I've eaten Subway since.

Cold sub = JJs or JM for their Italian. Gotta get it "Mike's way," I agree there. Hot subs is JM or Firehouse all the way.

Admittedly, I haven't been to Philly to get a truly authentic cheesesteak, but anyone who has tells me flat out that anything else is trash, so I'll take your word for it. For my virgin cheesesteak taste buds, Penn Station is the move, but one day I'll get to Philly and circle back to this legendary food thread. Penn Station is a go to for the wife and I if we drank a little too much. Cheesesteak, fries and a diet coke FTW.

Never had PS so I’ll defer but the others are a nah from me. Also I don’t necessarily get it mikes way,… we go a bit different but we love it.

I’ve heard that it’s actually pretty good and is basically just cinnamon ice cream.

I know Lion wishes there was hot dogs in it but there is not.

I sampled that ice cream at Graeters. I wouldn't buy it but I wasn't wretching or anything.

Honestly...same. I was in Cincy a few times but nobody wanted to try it.

Maybe it's because I'm from Detroit and we are no strangers to chili on our Coney Dogs, but I'm game to try it.

I‘d take Lafayette and their rat droppings 12/10 times over Skyline. Cant say anything about American, I wasn’t allowed to eat there 😂.

It's everyone born in Southwest Ohio I'm fairly certain. I don't think in 27 years I've met anyone that doesn't like it if they were born and raised here. You'll occasionally find someone who prefers Goldstar more, but they still like Skyline. It's like a weird chilli dog cult!

All reality IMO it's not as bad as everyone is claiming it to be, but it's also not worth the price you pay for it.

Homemade is much better and makes more sense financially
