While I don't disagree that he could be a very good WR, he could be a truly elite level safety. I wouldn't want to trade Kyle Hamilton for Javon McKinley (JOB probably a better athlete but you get the point)
This 100%

I think we need to just use the mold Michigan used a few years ago that won it all. If we build a physical culture where we win with a good defense and explosive run game we don't need five star receivers just guys that are explosive enough to get open when we run play action. So I say leave him alone and let him be the next Kyle Hamilton

Let's not try to win an Asterisk a la scUM or the Astros.

watching a PSU podcast of three beat writers yesterday on youtube where they were talking recent losses in recruiting this cycle and while talking about JOB, Adams and the Waffle kid going out west they basically said that PSU just can't spend the big bucks on the elite high 4 star and 5 star guys that ND and USC are, they also said that they offered a little more than usual for some of these kids but it sounded like the way they were talking it still couldn't compete with ND and USC NIL packages being offered

I think ND is spending well
But I'm also guessing that these beat writers are just assuming that's the only reason because it's the easy excuse out.

There's likely other factors at play too, such as, James Franklin is a dork.

Major cope. ND has a really solid NIL game but it's nothing like how Miami and some other schools approach things. I would say ND, PSU, Ohio State, etc. all approach things pretty similarly at the moment.

I think there’s a legit chance for JOB to play both ways? He’s too talented to keep off the field.

Which is funny because they're about to spend a whole bunch of money on a generational hockey player who will be a one-and-done. So they got at least some donors willing to splash the cash for recruits.

Elite athletes have stuck to one side of the field for generations.

Let's make sure the kid can roll at one spot before worrying about two.
There's also unicorn guys that come around so often Joey is that talented he would probally set in at WR next year and be the best option we got he is that good. If ND tells him he can play both ways they should let him.

The staff has rather explicitly told Golden and O’Brien that they can play both ways. At some point it becomes bad business to not follow through with that.
Definitely think we are going to see a lot more of this after Travis Hunter. I'm not sure if many will be as successful both ways as he was but guys are going to want to duplicate his playstyle/efforts. Would be fun to see JOB play on both sides, just hope he stays healthy.

Lol at everyone. There has been one player in the last 2+ decades to play both ways in CFB. And he did it against mid competition. You can't take the beating week in and week out for 14-16 games on both sides of the ball. Most guys having difficulty staying healthy with 30-60 reps in a game.

I'll stop short of guaranteeing he only plays defense, the staff might find a creative way for him to get an offensive snap or two in RZ but I think:
