I know high school football is very much "Use your elite athletes in every possible way" but watching him play free safety is hilarious.
Trying to think of the last STARTING TE who wasn't drafted? Maybe McBride since they only threw to Mayes when they passed the ball that year.NFL TE Brock Wright never started at ND because he played with 5 NFL draft picks (Smythe, Mack, Kmet, Tremble, Mayer) in his four year college career. One of my favorite bits of ND trivia.
That dude whose brother was qb at GaTech. Dude also played qb for a game after Arnaz got hurt.Trying to think of the last STARTING TE who wasn't drafted? Maybe McBride since they only threw to Mayes when they passed the ball that year.
You mean Gary Godsey? I remember he was a QB and Jared Clark was supposed to be the starter at TEThat dude whose brother was qb at GaTech. Dude also played qb for a game after Arnaz got hurt.
Just wanted to bump this so everyone doesn't have to scroll back 2 pages tomorrow to find it.

I’ve been staring at this one for an hour. It has to be sarcasm I wasn’t giving credit for?
Part of me wants it to be real, but either way it's funny! Was Alize Mack drafted?Trying to think of the last STARTING TE who wasn't drafted? Maybe McBride since they only threw to Mayes when they passed the ball that year.
Compared to my upper 5 figures at 37, I’d say that’s decent…Even our guys that were NFL busts are crushing it at life.
Still think he should have been a DE, but making ~$400k-600k at 32 isnt bad either.
We had a tight end named….Marcus Freeman. It's been at least since Fasano. I can't remember our TEs before him.

I believe that is/was the plan all along, considering how Denbrock uses TEs.Obviously not ideal, but if he's as good of a recieving option as experts are making out, I wonder if this helps makes up for our inability to get a big boundary WR. If he's the second coming of Tyler Warren, there's no reason to not let him run that route tree.
Appreciate the insight, Ron.I don’t know if it’s been covered since, but I saw A LOT of posts asking how he could be KSU in the morning & ND in the afternoon, & how much did ND pay him to get him to change?
A) He was not KSU in the morning. There was a false rumor he had committed to KSU the night before. He didn’t. In the morning people found out he contacted someone (and just assumed it’s KSU) & started putting in picks.
He actually called ND in the morning & that was kept secret all day.
B) ND didn’t pay him off. Even KSU mods are saying the KSU offer was larger.
C) The KSU mods never actually knew what was going on. They never even mentioned Premer’s visit to ND as a factor. It’s like it never happened to them. They made a lot of assumptions without actually talking to Premer or his family.
D) Notre Dame nailed his OV. The staff knew they did great. Premer told them ND was his favorite. So this was always a coin-flip between ND & a school close to home. He was either going to stay home or choose to leave home to go to his top school. He chose his top school.
E) The notion that nobody saw this coming & “even ND didn’t see it coming…” as the KSU mods are stating is false. Just because the ND sites didn’t see it coming doesn’t mean ND themselves didn’t. They were confident all along. Because they actually talked to Premer who told them to their faces ND was his favorite.
Let's not forget Jack Larson I think he is gonna be a good one.Very good group of young TEs between Flannigan, Premer, and Fryzel. Tremendous addition. I love this staff.
Still non compare to the legend Alex FlanaganWe have too many Flana/igans. I keep getting confused.
As a fellow Flan Irish surname, it is impossible to have enough, good sir!We have too many Flana/igans. I keep getting confused.
