Its not a bad season to blood a young QB as we can lean on the OL/RBs and that big WR Field we are bringing in as the young QB gets experience and confidence up.

I feel like the floor was already 2 losses with Angeli. Carr probably doesn't lower the floor, but he definitely raises the ceiling. We go 1-1 to start I'm ok with it, start 2-0 and watch out.
I’m all for the Carr era at ND

I’m tired of playing it safe with mid-QB’s. Time to let a guy with genuine QB talent have the reigns. A QB who can make all the throws, and has good enough legs to get out of trouble.

Going to be fun to watch CJ shine

More than anything, it should be interesting to see what our WR room really is capable of with a real gunslinger under Center. I know the WR room really hasn't been elite top to bottom (Or at least among the starters) since Weis left, but it's also hard to grade guys when they don't have a QB that can get them the ball consistently.

Many of us were hoping Carr or Minchey would displace Angeli and now both have jumped him enough the coaches felt comfortable letting Steve move to other opportunities.

This is the best case scenario. Two young QBs, both capable of lots of growth and now they'll have even more reps to expedite things. If the OL gets fully healthy, this team could be very difficult to defend. Our RBs, behind a very experienced and massive OL + a QB who can make all of the throws = pick your poison.

Not to mention Carr & Minchey should have some positive psychological impacts from this development. Exciting stuff!

It is pretty exciting!
Denbrook set Notre Dame scoring records last season with a one dimensional offense. Just imagine the possibilities when defenses must defend the entire field?

You’ll see packages for Minchey in short yardage and goal line and we should be blowing out majority of teams so I’m sure he will play

This feels like a much needed reset button and I can't love it anymore than I do.

For the first time in about 15 years us fans have hope, a new faith, a light at the end of a very dark tunnel that never seemed to end. This is the first real chance this staff, the ones who have shown they can develop players, has a legitimate QB with potential and their hands are ready to mold. The Dayne Crist we were hoping. The Jimmy Clausen with an OL that can protect. No more game managers who play beyond their limited ceiling. A new era, inject this into my veins

Like I get that Carr has huge potential but brother we played in the national championship three months ago
with a QB that was very limited in his ability to stretch the field with his arm.

Now. Nowwwww we have that potential guy with a staff that needs to develop the QB position. It's their time to shine. It's the missing piece of the puzzle. The CFB window is small to begin with. Carrs development is crucial the success of the program

Personally, I hope this is the case. I'm not anti-Minchey, but I just think we'd be better served with CJ at the helm if the decision is in fact close. Obviously, I'll be rooting for whoever gets the starting job. I just think there is less turmoil and more upside if its Carr.

I will defer to the staff of course but if they go with Minchey and he struggles at all people will be screaming for Carr. I don't think the reverse is true.
I think it goes that way for both. People always like to explore their options. If Kenny is remotely an option and if car struggles for just 1/4 people in the back of the room will start to yell.

Unfortunately you are correct. I basically fought 98% of the board last year about Leonard remaining the QB after the first 4 games lol
I met a guy with a “podcast” at the Purdue game who was constantly insisting Minchey should start.

This is literally a flat footed warm up throw. Horka's grasping at straws to provide something resembling analysis given his lack of access to practice. I have my qualms with Sampson, but he at least doesn't engage in this sort of giving takes for the sake of giving takes.
