It’s a message board, if you’re going to come to the site answering questions as an insider with clear knowledge of the program you’re going to get a million questions, merk seemed like a solid dude and I hope his health is well but come on fellas no one really crossed the line. Truthfully the push back and banter is what I’ve always appreciated about this site

Right?? We’re pretty well regulated here, and we self-police better than 99% of the internet. IE regulars have a low tolerance for bullshit and assholes. You’ve gotta pay your dues to get into “he’s an asshole, but he’s our asshole” territory.

And we look like English gentlemen in top hats and canes compared to the other ND message boards, where they are generally the embodiment of that gif where Donald Glover arrives with pizza to a room on fire and other chaos.

If you can’t feel welcome HERE after having experienced the rest of the ND internet, there might not be any saving you 😂

I could never take prison. Think of the horrible monotony of the jailhouse schedule. Doing the same thing over and over, day after day, year after year... It would be like the real life equivalent of those glorified checklists you call videogames.

Having re-read (painfully) the back and forth twice, this is where I'm at as well. Appreciated the scoop, but there wasn't anything insulting or disingenuous other than some of the normal rascals (not dale or bmac) with their typical takes. This is a board designed to cultivate discussion, not q&a, after all.

There was a lot of name calling and finger pointing around here by a certain practitioner of art of brazzzilian jujitsu. This man at some point did some things with special forces guys, so you know he was legit (even had "reaper" in his name). He was VERY confident that going on vacation in July caused all the top targets to make up their minds up about ND.

I’m a fucking part owner here. No one has more interest in an insider hanging out than me and the other guys that bought in… but maybe because I’m a part owner, I also sometimes feel protective about the community we’ve built here.

In that regard, losing a new guy with insider info because he didn’t want to deal with [light] pushback is not nearly as offensive as people attacking long-time posters that have been a part of our little Internet community for far longer.

Dale (and now Bobby Mac lol) didn’t do shit wrong. They’re being nicer to the insiders with their posts than they are to the rest of us when our little in-the-family spats happen.

Honestly, @Cackalacky2.0 is wayyyyyy meaner to me about Skyline Chili than anything Merck experienced, and @greyhammer90 should honestly be in jail for the way he bullies me about Assassin’s Creed video games… but you don’t see me running! Y’all are stuck with me, and hopefully I’m stuck with all of you regulars.

If someone wants to arrive like lightning in a bottle and then jet rather than answer for their insider claims, that’s their prerogative. But don’t stretch the limits of what ACTUALLY happened to bash people who have actually put time in with this community.

Real talk I would gladly forget every info dump from every insider since I joined this site 15 years ago if it meant I got to remember Wiz telling us that he's chugging tallboy IPAs alone in his backseat in a 10° parking lot three hours before kickoff. That's what it's all about.

I would pay an obscene amount of money to get Wooly and Wiz back in a thread together, Wooly talking about fishing in the Michigan wilderness while Wiz talks about which old Italian dude will be resoling his $450 imported boots

Both things can be true.

- Merckxe (and Bua, who’s still here) gave us an incredible wealth of info, for free. He took a bunch of time out of his day to answer many of our questions - it was awesome of him.
- That doesn’t mean we have to take everything as an absolute truth, especially when he’s pointing to processes where we haven’t yet seen the results. The “pushback” he ultimately left over was someone asking for a prospective timeline - if that’s the type of thing that told him he needed to step away, he was never going to last here.

I do think almost all of the info has been rosy. The only negative bits that were mentioned (Bowden, Mike Brown’s recruiting, others I’m forgetting) were either no longer negatives because they’re now behind us, or were stated in ways where we shouldn’t be at all concerned because we’ve now fixed them (eg - the admin is aware of Brown’s struggles, they will be giving him a bunch of help this season, etc).

I’m not saying the facts aren’t true, I’m just saying it’s fair for outsiders to be skeptical until they see the results - the team hasn’t been this close to a national championship in a while, but when there are a few deficiencies that are consistently holding us back, it’s fair for some people to expect them to be present until they’re not.

Dude simply had a horrible take on losing access to Loy on II not being a negative. Then he doubled and tripled down until I called him Merck's Robin.

But let's get one thing clear going back to the most important point here. I had ZERO to do with Merck's burnout. Zero.
