This, 100%. I thought the pushback was pretty tame, as well. Not worth the energy to me, but I'm confrontational. I also haven't dealt with people wanting of me like these guys have.

Sharing 95% accurate intel for free is going to create negative interactions. I think having hard boundaries about certain behavior/topics (even if petty) is of great benefit to your mental health. So, I get taking your ball and leaving. He doesn't owe us shit.

If so, you should try again but this time actually get it straight. Merck’s a great asset to have access to. I have zero beef with him, never had. I didn’t pay much attention to his Dear Abbey thread on 247 and I was still invited to join his Text Group which I declined… only cuz I can’t have rando messages blowing up my phone all day.

The info they deal in I don’t claim to know anything about nor does it interest me all that much. I like recruiting, conference realignment, tacos, keeping up with who just died and who Brick’s shaggin. Besides that, dgaf and have no idea where the ego / jealousy angle arose from.

Honestly it's hard to find anything by any poster that was bad enough to run him off. I enjoyed the inside info as much as anyone but it is honestly a reach to say he had much if any pushback. I honestly dont know why posters are getting criticized for pushing him out when he really just pushed himself out

I don't think it's so massive, if someone called me a diva I'd shrug it off knowing A-that I'm not one and B-that it really isn't the end of the world that someone may think that I am.

This isn't a criticism of Merxcke or even an agreement that he is a diva, I just think your response after the initial "chill, we don't know what's going on in his life" was over the top. Piombino said he was, you said he wasn't. The sky isn't falling.

Really don’t think that guy was sticking around either way. Again, if you read through the whole thread and think anyone did anything even remotely offensive enough to force someone to leave the site, then idk what to tell you guys.

I’m a fucking part owner here. No one has more interest in an insider hanging out than me and the other guys that bought in… but maybe because I’m a part owner, I also sometimes feel protective about the community we’ve built here.

In that regard, losing a new guy with insider info because he didn’t want to deal with [light] pushback is not nearly as offensive as people attacking long-time posters that have been a part of our little Internet community for far longer.

Dale (and now Bobby Mac lol) didn’t do shit wrong. They’re being nicer to the insiders with their posts than they are to the rest of us when our little in-the-family spats happen.

Honestly, @Cackalacky2.0 is wayyyyyy meaner to me about Skyline Chili than anything Merck experienced, and @greyhammer90 should honestly be in jail for the way he bullies me about Assassin’s Creed video games… but you don’t see me running! Y’all are stuck with me, and hopefully I’m stuck with all of you regulars.

If someone wants to arrive like lightning in a bottle and then jet rather than answer for their insider claims, that’s their prerogative. But don’t stretch the limits of what ACTUALLY happened to bash people who have actually put time in with this community.
