Both were the right QB for the right team. Swap them only and both teams do worse - ND would be dramatically worse off while OSU probably still has a good shot of making the playoffs, IMO.

I think they got it just about right in which ones they chose, how they ranked them, and definitely on what makes each one insufferable. Bama & ND are in the top 10, but #1 is so incredibly spot on and for EXACTLY the reasons the author gives. Enjoy and have a laugh.

I never got the "Notre Dame fans are the worst" logic. Yes, I am obviously biased but I'm also clear-eyed about human behavior and I have never seen a Notre Dame fan exhibit the kind of boorish, obnoxious, chest-thumping fandom that other fans have. If anything, the ND fans I've met are polite, low-key and carry on with the annoying chest-puffery that other fans do. If someone doesn't like the Fighting Irish, fine, but the idea that ND fans are by-and-large arrogant, insufferable agents of douche baggery never tracked with me, especially after hearing stories about how Miami, Michigan, and OSU fans act.

I would guess that more than 80% of the complaints come from reading online opinions of Notre Dame fans, not personal interactions. I've been to more than a handful of games and I've never witnessed a truly hostile or arrogant interaction by ND fans. WhoGAF anyway, some guy created a list of teams that annoy him, based on #reasons.

I've even met arrogant Georgia Tech fans (in years they went 3-9!), there are obnoxious fans everywhere and for every team. Some let it seep into the entire culture of the fanbase, though, and those are the teams deserving of our chiding.

As for why people hate ND, part could be how wide our fanbase is. It's no worry for most of these local teams, where the fanbase is 90%+ local or regional. For a national program like ND, it's easy to find opposing fans

I'm sure they meant Michigan, but used the wrong pic. I never knew Iowa fans were that bad, but then again, I have almost no experience with them. There are definitely a few fanbases like that, though: arrogant but with little to no accomplishments to justify it. Texas A&M has to be the worst.

I believe the author of that article is a British journalist known for his coverage of the Premier League so that probably explains a lot.
