There is no “upgrading” the best position coach in the country. I do think that ND will be quite appealing to a number of good young coaches looking to up jump though.
This was my take totally on the DC hire as well. We weren't going to upgrade from Golden.. Even if we got Knowles IMO

His efforts for the ‘25 class will forever be a giant head scratcher

Literally both early commits were so bad that they were booted from the class. If he wasn’t Del, we would have been reaming him for it lol.

Nolan was a nice late addition, but that’s a kid ND should get whenever they want (NJ Catholic school kid committed to BC). Hardly impressive.

He had set himself up so well to swing for the fences too. There was literally zero pressure on him if he swung and missed. He already had a good stable of backs and could’ve just grabbed Nolan James (like he already did lol).

Anyone have the On3 list?
Sounds like they are just throwing names out there right now but

Wake Forest quarterbacks coach Dan Enos

Youngstown State head coach Doug Phillips

Indianapolis Colts running backs coach DeAndre Smith

Vanderbilt assistant wide receivers coach Jafar Williams

Former Temple head coach Stan Drayton

I lived through Willingham's 2004 recruiting class.

You don't need to trust me, nor am I asking you to, but it'll be fine.
A total of just 19 career NFL games out of that class. I didn't follow recruiting at that time, but what the heck happened with that class? Ty pulled in a terrific class the year before.

Seider would be a long shot I don't see us getting him

Does this situation finally make Price bounce?

That is my fear in seeing the move. Deland was big on a heavy RB rotation. A new coach may want to ride his superstar in Love a bit more. With ND having to pull Price back into the fold so many times, this could be the motivation for him to fully jump ship.

It was brought up that Love and His family agreed on a set amount of touches per game with the coaches they don't want him overused.
