Starters should be very good, but Depth at LB isn’t great. Going to need some young guys to take major steps forward.
Ausberry, Bowen, Asa will be your starters and with guys behind being Zinter, Rezac, Kahoun, Kia, Faraimo, Sacca, and Ko’o Kia. Zinter played a goood amount this year. Kia is gonna be good. Faraimo is gonna be good enough to start and Sacca and Kia should be pushing for playing time right away. Kia had 16 tackles for loss his sensor season and 5 pass breakups

Sneed is the type of versatile freak athlete that Freeman and Fickle had wrecking games for UC. It just takes some time to get to the point mentally where you can keep that guy on the field at all times.

Sneed is going to make some noise nationally next year

I find it difficult to believe that Sneed has gone up to 235 six-weeks post a 16 game season. Players tend to have trouble keeping on their initial weight during the course of a season. It anything he more than likely lost weight from his 220ish frame.

I speculated last season when it looked like he wasn’t going to see the field at LB that he could gain the necessary weight (not an incredible amount needed) and play edge. But it does seem hard to believe he made that weight gain since the season ended.

Maybe they sold him on being our Abdul Carter / Micah Parsons - he's obviously never going to be big enough to be an elite edge but can be very effective in college at that size.

Wouldn't surprise me if he led us in sacks if that's the case. He'll be great on obvious passing downs.

I mean, it doesn't have to all be since the season ended. After the regular season, we had 4 games over like 7 weeks, with most of that happening without school. Combine the extra time with a lower level of physicality during practices at the end of the season, and it seems believable that he was adding weight since the end of November, which would mean 3 months instead of 6 weeks.

Adding even more weight to play one year of edge would wipe away years of progress they have made with his off ball LB ability. Don’t Harold Perkins this.

He needs to be close to that weight to be a viable NFL prospect at LB anyways. I think this would be a step closer to being better at WILL and still situational on the edge, but definitely not a move there.
