I have three daughters, all of them athletes, so I have to tell you: I don't know that I've seen anyone move like Day was moving. I'm fairly certain that kind of movement is something you'd see on the National Geographic channel. Maybe.

I said at the beginning of the playoffs that if ND didn't have the defensive injuries and the NFL OTs stayed another year, then they could go toe-to-toe with anyone.

But you go to war with the army you have. Unless Chip Kelly overthinks this, OSU should score 30. ND is banged up on the DL and will have to compensate with bringing LBs up, and even that didn't work against PSU. The prospect of being depleted in the front seven *and* playing man coverage against the best WR corp in the country. I dunno, but this looks like a pick your poison game.

Defensively, OSU may be the most complete defense in the country. Love probably is not going to house one against them. The running game might not break 100. Leonard will have to earn every inch, again. And the ND WR corp, while upgraded from abysmal to mediocre, is probably going to have to do the unthinkable: be good. I just don't see it.

Hate to say it but I could see Ohio State winning by as much as they throttled Oregon or Tennessee. I wish ND was healthy.

Having said that, the line makes sense. Look at the talent disparity from recruiting and NIL. They have routinely signed top 5 classes, often stacking top 10 WRs in every single class, they added more top players from the portal and have 5 stars everywhere. If ND were at near perfect health, I'd actually have confidence but this team has fought and clawed the whole season and lost a lot of valuable pieces along the way.

I hope they can stay locked in every moment they have leading up to and during the game so they can write the pages of that history. What a wild, fun ride to see this team teeter on the brink of disaster and then win 13 straight, including the Sugar and Orange bowls against Georgia and Penn State.

I actually feel like we are more likely to break off some big chunk runs and/or maybe a house call than we are to consistently move the chains on the ground. They are super aggressive in the box. Lots of Cover 3, but they bring them up aggressively in run support. A wrong gap or a well timed cutback could crease them with the speed of Love and Price.

I expect lots of RPO and think we have enough on the outside to compete with Greathouse and Faison coming on, and Evans being Evans. Because he was banged up and our pass game sucked balls for the half the season, I think it is being overlooked how good Faison is/can be.

The extra rest will help, and I dont see MF having any issues with getting these guys to completely empty the tank for team glory one more time.

All great points - but the same could be said about ND/UGA.

I know, I know, Beck was out - but it doesn't explain the difference between UGA -1.5 (which flipped to ND right before kickoff) and OSU -10.

I remember a few years ago reading an article about why Chip Kelly wasn’t successful in the NFL. The main thought was that his offensive system didn’t match up well with the defenses in the NFL because so many teams run man coverage. Let’s hope that was an accurate article!

I see this match-up the same as the Louisville game.... the only difference is the 'injury bug' and I have to say..... the 'next men up' have come in and done well. Hopefully some good medical attention and rest will get the Irish (in total) at about 80-85% healthy for this game.

If Love is 100% it will be up to the offense to put at least 24-28 pts on the board. If that happens, I see a great game. VS / VS... o$u vs psu... the Irish match up pretty good. Same opposition played 8-9 weeks into the season so, they were prepared for each other and the outcome of the games was similar to the Peach Bowl and the Irish was 'riddled' with injuries before and in-game.

ND hasn't been held under a 100 all year and OSU has given up 100 plus against a majority of their games against P4 opponents. And I'm not sure they've played a single game against a running QB like Leonard.

Iowa, Nebraska and Penn State all went over 100. Oregon reg season and TN in playoffs were over 150, and Michigan was close to 200. Purdue and IU ran for over 100 on them, if you remove sacks. IU ran for nearly 150 if you remove sacks and that punt bock which was a combined -60 yards.

They rarely rotate their front 7 and will keep starters on the field even if they're dragging feet with hands on hips. Rewatch 4th quarter of Michigan game and take a look at their defense - dog tired, standing straight up, getting their asses kicked and they stay on the field.

If ND keeps it close, they'll do the same and we'll rip off chunk yardage runs.
