Maybe they don't. Maybe even we're #2. But #2 in the country doesn't matter. Georgia will be #2 among conference champions and thus the #2 seed.

No your second sentence was my point. UGA will be the #2 conference champ….but they’re gonna jump from #5 to…#2 in the actual rankings?

They can’t keep them lower than Texas, but they’re only gonna drop Texas one spot to #3 to put UGA at #2?

I think ND ends up ahead of both Texas and PSU is what I’m getting at. They should anyway

ND will probably be ranked higher, but will still be the lower seed to UGA.

This is what The Athletic projects at this moment and I'd bet it's correct, if the games finish like they are playing rn.

Don’t get the argument that PSU and Texas should stay ahead of ND but SMU should drop out? I understand that this is a possibility but it’s just arbitrary BS to me. Whatever, show up and smack around whoever we’re dealt I guess

I don’t even necessarily think that’s the case, UGA is probably gonna be #2 in the rankings tomorrow, but if they just drop Texas one spot to keep them ahead of ND would be the real crime.

Guessing it will be 1 Oregon 2 UGA 3 ND and good luck 4-12 lmao

I don’t think they will b/c the CFP has been pretty clear that they will not punish losers of CCG for playing an extra game. They have to protect CCG so as long as PSU & UT don’t/didn’t get blown out…they’ll stay above ND. Why? Because in a passive-aggressive fashion they also want to stick it to ND for not playing in a conference (that part is pure conjecture on my part but I’ve been on this earth long enough to know what non-ND fans think about ND football)

I mean here is Manuel flat out saying ND could move up based on what happens in the championship games:

Seed. Not ranking.

Huntr Jimmy3Putt I know how the damn format works ya’ll don’t have to keep saying seed like I don’t watch 12 hours of college football for 15 Saturdays out of the year. I know lol

UGA will probably be both the #2 rank and #2 seed tomorrow. If they aren’t #2 rank, the only other team that could be is Notre Dame logically

I don’t think I like the brackets.
This is the playoffs not a tournament.

IMO, the bracket should be rescheduled after each round so the highest seed always plays the lowest.

I didn’t say they’d be out of the playoff but PSU ain’t dropping below ND. They’ve made that pretty clear thus far. It could change if Oregon turned it on & blew out PSU but that’s not looking to be the case.
Why in the world would you be so sure a 2 loss team would not drop behind a 1 loss team? It's not like there is a huge gap between perceived talent or schedule. The conference championship game should count pretty much as a regular season game. If it can negatively impact us by keeping us from a potential bye, it should impact others too.

If we do wind up facing Georgia, would they have the Peach Bowl?
No, the conference bowl affiliations will be honored and then the semifinal defaults to whatever is geographically closest to the #1 seed.

Rose Bowl will be Oregon. (Big 10)

Sugar Bowl will be Georgia. (SEC)

Fiesta Bowl will be Arizona State. (Big 12)

Peach Bowl will be Boise State. (No ACC team in the top 4 seeds)

Then the Cotton Bowl will go to the 1/4 side of the bracket whole the Orange Bowl will go to the 2/3 side.

I'd like to see it be weighted since some of these teams shouldn't be rewarded for playing The Derek Zoolander Center for Children Who Can't Read Good and Wanna Learn to Do Other Stuff Good Too.

I thought the higher seed got to pick the bowls, or am I mistaken? Why would UGA want to go to New Orleans over Atlanta?
