People who claim that loss was worse than Double Doink need to touch grass. Last night was embarrassing. Double Doink happened when there were Super Bowl hopes.

Even the Week 17 Conte game is worse than last night.

Lots of season left to play. REALLY dumb loss at the end but I didn't even check the score again after seeing CW had like 30 yards passing down 9-0 at halftime. I think the extra frustration stems from our rookie QB #1 pick being outshined by their rookie QB #2 pick.

If you set aside the unfortunate ending, Chicago played a high-octane offense, on the road and mostly stymied them all afternoon. At least one thing to hang your hats on. I've gone on the record saying the Bears' SOV has been abysmal, but I was pretty impressed with the effort and compete I saw yesterday against a Manders team that had been humming along for weeks.

I was there last night and will fondly remember that moment the rest of my life. Watching the sh*t-eating grins of Bears fans turn into open mouths of disbelief was beyond satisfying. So was watching Caleb crumble in person for the 2nd straight year.

Bears fans should've known. We can't have nice things

The 2nd and 5 Williams converted on that last drive is a glimpse of what we've seen this year that should provide some hope. They have to continue to address the offense in the offseason to get to the next tier.

Tyrique Stevenson addressed the team today and apologized.

I am still questioning whether this is the coaching staff that is going to be able to get the final roster product of Ryan Poles to a Super Bowl. I think Eberflus can coordinate a defense. I am reserving judgement on everything else.

Justin Fields has not set the world on fire in Pittsburgh thus far either. I think they're at least pointed in the right direction.

Caleb had two TD's late and put his team in position to win the game. For that alone, he has already proven to be better than Fields.

I think CW is a fine player but one of those Td's he literally just handed the ball off to Swift who had an unbelievable run lol, let's calm down on him "leading" them on that drive

CW is probably better then fields.
But not sure he's better then Daniels. He was impressive.

I think those games were more impactful in terms of stakes, but this game was A LOT more embarrassing in a vacuum.

Yeah, the double doink was embarrassing, but missing a 42 yard field goal is a pretty realistic outcome. It happens.

Getting burned deep by Aaron Rodgers, embarrassing, but another pretty realistic outcome. Dude is one of the best QBs to play the game.

But giving up a 50 yard hail mary, and you let somebody get behind you, defense isn't set with 3 timeouts, the guy who tips the ball is the same guy who is taunting the crowd and not paying attention to the play. It was an all-around catastrophe of incompetence.

Those first two plays were deflating and embarrassing, but they're also just things that happen. What happened yesterday should NEVER happen at an NFL level. It wasn't just a miracle heave and the WR makes an insane effort. They legitimately let the dude get behind ALL of them!

I think in today's news cycle, this is going to come and go pretty quick nationally. Locally there isn't much else going on right now so it's going to be the talk for the first portion of the week. They have two winnable games coming up at Arizona and against New England, then Green Bay comes to town. Everyone is going to be hyped for that one.

It was disappointing, but in now way worse than some of those playoff losses that have been mentioned.

That can’t be a real quote.
It's horse shit. More trash feeding a certain narrative about him. He never said it.

He has spent most of the postgame talking about how he missed a lot of throws he shouldn't have and has to be better. He's taking his portion of accountability for having been bad, especially in the first half. Williams said he has to do a better job of leading during the week as well.

DJ Moore and Jaylon Johnson have both gone on AM radio this week questioning what was going on at the end.

If the Hail Mary doesn't happen, the narrative is that the Bears' defense shut down the Commanders where it mattered most, and CW is a winner that turned it on in the 4th. Everything would have been noise.

There are problems that need to be addressed, and quite frankly, there needs to be a serious evaluation of whether Flus is the guy and if the coaching staff is set up for long-term success. CW is fairly low on the list of problems.

I think the Hail Mary opened up this conversation a bit more, and the question was being posed last year as well.

There were reports this week that Lions OC Ben Johnson covets the Bears job. Jim Harbaugh was out there too and say what you want about him, but that's a hire that shows major ambition if nothing else.

It would be bold moving on from Eberflus, but bold moves typically get you closer to a championship. We saw this with Theo Epstein in Chicago.

That leverage call seems like BS. The OL just stayed down. How else is the DL guy supposed to try and block the kick?

The playcalling stinks and Caleb ain’t much better.

This has to be the easiest prep week for opponents.

“Blitz every third down. They can’t stop it, yet they never try to adjust to the fact we will be blitzing every single third down”

It’s infuriating someone sitting on the couch can see something so obvious these dipshits on the sidelines that makes
seven figures can’t see.

After the Patriots this week ; all 6 division games, @SF, @ Seattle short week. That is brutal!

Also, leave Ben Johnson alone (in season at least).

I think Poles is fine. I question the coaching
I agree with the bolded but there are 2 things as to why I'm starting to question things:
  1. Injuries have been an issue this year. No doubt about it but the o-line continues to be a massive problem. Poles himself has touted the depth up front with his somewhat Moneyball approach and nothing is working. Pair the o-line play with the anemic defensive line play. It all makes me question a guy who prides himself on knowing how to build up the trenches.
  2. If Eberflus is fired (there is still a lot of football left to change this sentiment) then Poles' job needs to be evaluated simply because that's his guy. As a GM he's had great moves notably the Panthers trade but he's also had some big misses notably the Claypool trade and Nate Davis signing.

62, 73, and 65 need to go elsewhere. 76 and 58 are a good start for the OL. I'm 42, the Bears havent drafted a franchise LT since I was 2 years old with Jimbo Covert #6 in the 1983 draft. That is unacceptable. The lack of addressing center since Olin has been a disaster too. Olin was bullish on Mustipher and mad at the shit he was getting from the media.. I tend to agree with 57. the rest of the line blew.
The more things change the more things stay the same.. Never investing in the line. Its infuriating.. None of these first round QBs ever have a chance with a shit OL. Its been this way for way too long.
