I get everyone’s pessimism because I’m right there with ya, but the mighty Louisville offense only managed 17 points against GT and was out gained. For whatever reason these are also the types of games Freeman seems to be able to get the team amped up for.
This.

Louisville was stupidly overrated last year (got into the Top 10, lol), almost exclusively because of beating us. And I sense more of the same this year.

Lost their last 3 games to end the season. They’ve played 11 straight games without beating a ranked team. Last ranked team they beat was ND.

Expect 10 men in the box crashing the edges.
We’ll have to pass to win.
If there was ever a game to try a 2 qb set Leonard-Angeli, this is it. Would love to see it but doubt we will. Truly like Leonard but his passing is highly limiting the offense. Just don't see why they don't try a 2 qb offense for a bit. Angeli is a superior passer and is always overlooked.

You trust him to stop the run b/c NIU & Miami had no problem gashing them

This is nothing personal, but that's kind of a boring take I've seen thrown around.

NIU was what it was... just awful

The fact of the matter was Al wasn't worried about Miami running on us. Sure, pick up a few yards here and there, sometimes even a big run... but that's not what's gonna win

We lost because everything sucked at NIU. *sucked*

RL just ain't it if he can't run, and even if he can it likely won't be enough against above average teams

Louisville isn't an above average team. They're barely middling. Even SC got beat with what? 40 yards passing by Michigan?

We'll beat Louisville. Although I admit we shouldn't even be having this discussion

I wish I had your confidence and insight. Because I believe I’m seeing an overrated team with glaring weaknesses. I mean, we’re 4 games in against a joke of a schedule, and Leonard has thrown 1 td pass. Those warts will render/ are rendering their ugly heads sooner than later…

We have no offensive philosophy, style or purpose whatsoever. It’s worse than last year. I thought it was just Parker, but at this point, it’s obviously internal (Freeman or Gino). Both Hartman and Leonard have vastly regressed since coming here. With two different coordinators, that’s not coincidental. The NIL money
is worth it because coming here ultimately tanks their career….

The defense is stout. It’s not those elite SEC defenses of past, but good. I could point some weaknesses out, but that’s ultimately not this team’s problem.

And fuck me the special teams are abysmal….punts are inconsistent, field goals are blocked or snaps are botched … this is one of the sloppiest, most unprepared teams in college football.

Next Saturday is clearly a Brohm vs. Golden matchup. And redemption for Golden. If the defense can hold Louisville to under 21 points, ND will win.

I don't think those are updated after today's game. I'd check again tomorrow.
I’m pretty sure it is updated. They wouldn’t be taking action on it if it wasn’t representative. It’s also rare to see a line posted for the next week before the current week has concluded, so this was probably recently posted.

I expect tomorrow’s line to shift by maybe a point, but this shift will primarily be based on the preliminary action that the book takes.

I agree with some of this, but to say that Hartman and Leonard "regressed" is a little myopic imo.

I think we'rein a position that we havent been able to trust a QB on our roster to lead a playoff team. Is that Freeman or Gino's fault? I dont think so, it just is

Bringing in a new QB with a new OC year after year is not a winning formula, but I don't think he's had any other options. Angeli is cool and can get things done in a pinch, but he ain't it.

Riley had a lot of upside. OSU wanted him too and we won the battle. Hartman had a million years experience and with this roster? Hed look pretty dang good... at least servicable to get us to the playoffs.

I'm not defending everything, we should never ever ever ever lose to NIU in a coach's third year, but the QB situation isn't any coach's fault.

Day game… @ Notre Dame… Not thrilled about that.

The elephant in the room is Leonard & the staffs refusal to even attempt to find a true passing threat.

The question is how long does he get if he can’t get it going? I don’t give a shit what he did against Miami Ohio.. He should be putting up video game numbers against these scrubs.

I’m already exhausted with this team.. There’s no identity.. Our D line sucks balls.. thankfully we’re a strong back 7 but this line gets absolutely no pressure..

“MF gets them up for big games”

Whatever.. this is mid day at ND.. they might as well be serving caviar & white wine spritzers because the atmosphere will be terrible & for the 2nd week in a row there’ll be too much red in the stadium.

We’re just not good enough to show up & stomp lesser talent which has been proven with NIU.. who just fucking lost to Buffalo. Freeman admitted they over looked them & got shell shocked.

We’re just not that good. I think we lose this game if Freeman stays with Leonard too long.

The offensive playmakers & honestly everyone in the building including himself were not overly excited with his running TD today.

We need a QB.. a legit QB if we’re going to make any run at the playoffs.

But I laugh even typing that.. We get smoked by Ohio St, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas etc

You know it in your heart.

We need elite trench players & an actual QB & unless those things somehow emerge in a few weeks, this year is a wash imo..

At best a first round KO.

Why isn't it a night game? I realize it's "just" Louisville but they will be the best team we play at home all season.
I don’t know if these decisions can be flexed…but nobody thought FSU was gonna be *this* bad.

True. And I'm sure between TV schedules and the high share of people who travel to Notre Dame games, changing gametimes on short notice is tricky for us.
Either way we should do two night home games a year (as we have been in recent years) and this would've been a logical second game after FSU.

This is the classic ND wins by 28 game and looks dominant and like they found something before going to the bye week and losing all momentum and blowing it against Stanford

This game is a green-out, right? Just wondering what color jerseys we'll be wearing when RL bounces his 1st 5 yard out in the turf.

I was like a 25 year old version of myself yesterday. Screaming at the tv like a madman.

I'm going to disconnect emotionally again and get back to enjoying each game for what it is, a game.
Go Irish!
Beat Louisville!

Louisville is going to get up two scores early, and that’s all it will take. This team cannot pass, so it cannot win a comeback once it’s down. Louisville rolls by 20. I hate this season,
