Going to be interesting to see exactly how he fits in the defense next season.

The announcers of yesterdays game, mentioned that he sort of plays everywhere. No true fixed position, but doesnt really excel at anything to this point.

For the amount of snaps he had this season (I believe close to 300) I was hoping for more havoc plays. He did make a jump this season, albeit a small one. He needs to make a jump this off-season. It may be a “now or never” situation as there are other LBers that will push for an expanded role.
I'm guessing Kiser will move inside to give a veteran presence at WILL and then you'll see Sneed playing in his spot at OLB. But he certainly has positionally flexibility and you also have Ausberry.

Sneed needs more burn to improve his ability to see things. I'm not sure that he'll ever be the most instinctive player out there, but he has the speed and explosiveness to make up for it in a way that a less athletic guy can't. His play in the first quarter stringing out the reverse into a loss was a fantastic play.

good to see

Cool, abs

How about instead get in the film room so you're not running around like a chicken with his head cut off?

Then maybe we could kick you over to a useful position in this defense like a Will and hopefully be spared of having to watch Kiser engage in his patented arms grab waist and hold on for dear life three yard drag tackle style six yards past the line of scrimmage all season

If he hit Weigman here, woof! We still would’ve stopped the running back.

He looks so damn good. If he can continue to develop his 'feel' for the game, aka - more live reps to prove he won't get fooled, then he's going to develop into a serious problem.

The crazy thing is I don’t recall a single moment where any of the linebackers that played looked like they didn’t belong on the field. They all were flying around making plays. Obviously it’s only one game but they all passed the eye ball test week one

The film for our linebackers is making me salivate.... Can't think of a group as well rounded as this one WITH depth to rotate guys through in a long time

According to ISD, Sneed was visibly upset at the end of the game and left the field before the alma mater played.

Because he's not playing as much or as well as he'd like to? Fair.

In one of the other threads someone suggested sliding him over to replace Traore (assuming Traore's out for awhile). Not the worst idea.

He’s way too small for this other than 3rd down passing situations.

Well he’s played in 5 games so he’s stuck with us until the end of the year now. Good time for a bye

Ausberry has clearly passed him in terms of who the staff trusts more. Sneed shows flashes but he’s too inconsistent to stay on the field.

He's an athlete that they've tried turning into a LB for three seasons now. Similar profile to Ausberry except JA can play the position. Won't lose sleep here.

Don’t think Price is going anywhere. The opportunities are there but he needs to protect the football.
I saw Price got five snaps yesterday. Was he hurt or did they bench him after the fumble?

As for Sneed, yeah don't know what to do with him. Good athlete but he's not good enough an inside linebacker to see the field right now.

Had to be cuz of the fumble.

As for Sneed... if it's not a passing down where he can be used like Marist, sit him. The combo of KVA, Bowen, Kiser & Ausberry is all you need.

Need the depth as Landow is killing this program with injuries. Never remember a Ballis year like this for injuries.
I don’t know if you can blame a strength coach for injuries like ligament tears, but it’s notable that the Denver Broncos had never had more than two of these injuries from 2012-2017 (before Landow), but from 2018-2022 they only less than four in a season once and were one of the most injured teams in the NFL (with Landow).

2014 was a shit show for injuries. Not sure if Ballis was here though.

Balis was hired after the disastrous '16 season.

A few of the players on that team were doing work-outs off campus because they felt Longo's program just wasn't enough.

Our younger LB's are playing better than Sneed, a move to DE might be better for him.

This is MF's boy....he's not going anywhere.
