Prister pretty bleak on Sneed after leaving the field early and not taking part in the alma mater at the end of the game.

Suspects something may happen.

To note, Sneed already redshirted as a freshman in '22, and can't take the "Mickey route" here.

Who is faster out of Sneed and KVA?
I think Sneed is and would have made that tackle on the QB scramble that KVA missed (that was ultimately called short of first down). Sneed would have probably been out of position though.
Anyway he adds a lot so I hope Freeman can sort it out.

Sneed can't tackle and just isn't a very good linebacker. He's crazy athletic but he has no idea where to be and misses so many tackles

Honest question, have you ever seen Sneed make an open field tackle like that in an Irish jersey?

The man who makes that tackle from the lb corps is a healthy Jack Kiser.

Tend to agree although I don’t think he’s a bad LB overall, just one of those guys that just is a better athlete than football player. Thought he’d be ahead of where he is right now.

KVA, Ausberry, and Bowen or also just studs. Tough spot for him.

Sounds like Mr. Sneed needs some additional maturity lessons if what we are hearing about his actions at the end of the game are true.

Seems like Tuihalamaka has had about as good a career as any of the LB’s in that 2022 class to date.

To be fair we all said the same about Liufau at this stage of his career. He eventually put it together.

Sneed’s trouble is the internal competition for playing time is a lot tougher now. He may put it together at another school.

Depth is getting shot on the edge. He should be getting reps reps reps at the vyper spot.
Sometimes coaching is as simple as finding a role for what a player can do, as opposed to continually trying to coach up the things they can’t. Let Sneed get reps during obvious passing situations and play a better tackler and open field defender on other downs. You probably get Sneed 15-20 meaningful reps a game that way in a spot where he’s likely more poised to succeed.

Which is probably why he’s pissed off. But as a coach you have to do what’s best for the team and let the chips fall where they may.

Here is the thing: it may be his strength, but others could still be better at this. Maybe his weaknesses are really the only way he can get 15-20 snaps

Someone was going to lose snaps because 5 guys is too many to rotate through. KVA, Bowen, and Ausberry have turned out to be studs. Kiser is too smart to not have on the field. I’m not surprised Sneed was the biggest loser.

unfortunately yeah, dude is way too undersized for the position though and he played an insane amount of snaps on saturday after Traore went out

I’m going to use Sneed as an example for a situation that happens every offseason that drives me nuts.
When he was being recruited, every ND board had dozens of posters saying, “got to sign him, he’ll start day 1.”

Every year, ND fans pick a recruit or two & say they will start day 1.
No they won’t.

Last season: “With our WR room, Cam Williams will start Day 1.”
No. He never was. He wasn’t even the most polished WR recruit in the class, Gilbert is.
Before that, Sneed starts day 1.
Prince Kollie starts day 1.
Jordan Johnson starts day 1.

I fought with more people than I can fathom about Sneed for over a year. They all swore that Sneed would step in day 1 and start because of his athleticism, and “he is already better than Bertrand, Kiser & Marist.”
No, no he is not. He wasn’t better then, & he is not better now, & he probably won’t ever be. Bertrand & Marist are playing in the NFL as rookies. Sneed played 12 snaps as a Junior on Saturday.

Also, side note.
Did anyone hear the story, that was verified to be true, that multiple sites reported that Sneed & Kiser raced & Kiser won.

If Sneed wasn’t (ridiculously) given a 5th Star by one site, no one would care about him.
Same with Prince Kollie (had a 5th Star by a site), Jordan Johnson (5th Star by a site).

And Tim O’Malley had the best stat for fans wanting Sneed to just line up & rush the passer…he has the WORST pass rush success rate of anybody on the front who rushes the passer (18%).

I agree with this other than you can clearly see his explosive suddenness and ability to change direction. Kiser may be straight line slightly faster but that means so little playing LB. Kiser does not have good change of direction to match his straight line speed.

I was not part of the group that thought he would play day 1, because his film didn't show that. But I sure hoped he would develop. He still has unique physical traits no LB on our team has, but he also has the uncanny ability of "almost" so often. He just doesn't know the game or have in game instincts.
