They just won the natty. They beat Ohio State, Alabama and Washington all In a row.

They should be killing us.
No. They SHOULD be operating at a severe handicap due to the massive sanctions handed down by the NCAA. But alas, here we are...

He's still telling MF he's coming. Tough spot for the staff to be in.
But it doesn't really have to be, does it? The staff can say listen we want you here. You are our guy, 100%. But if you so much as take one more visit or even a phone call, we are moving on. Full stop.

How many times can the staff be burned in the same fashion? It's classic fool me once , shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Except in this instance it's fool me five or six times now?

Words are words. He would just say okay and keep doing what he's been doing for the past six months or so.

Can't put the screws to a top 50 quarterback recruit three months from Signing Day. They have all the leverage/power. Just like ND did when they coerced him into an early commitment last fall. Now turnabout is fair play.

Either continue to recruit him as is and backchannel other prospects that you have leverage/power over if feel the need to do so or they're worth the time.

Then read the tea leaves with Knight up until you have set an own internal drop dead date (e.g. Oct 15 or something) whereby you publicly offer the backup kid and invite him to take a visit and are willing to take his commitment.

Then you just never speak to the Knights again in your life.

These kids can tell you anything all the way up to the morning of Signing Day. It's up to the coaches to suss the situations out and move on. That's why they get paid $$$.

But thus far, Freeman/Bowen are objectively terrible at dealing with these flakey Top 50 recruits and determining what they are really thinking/feeling--Moore, Keeley, Bowen, Taylor, Meadows

Haven't you heard of learning on the job? Sometimes it just takes others years longer to learn

View attachment 3056197This is how I picture Brian Kelly’s reaction would have been if our OC came in with “There’s this black QB from Mississippi named Deuce who I think we should target…”

At least Freeman makes it interesting.
Trending to be same end result tho. And I'm not saying that's Freeman's fault. Crazy times.

I would only blame Freeman for the outcome if we don’t wind up with a QB who is credible potential future starter (like we did with Minchey after we couldn’t reel in Dante Moore).

As others have said these elite QBs have all the leverage at this stage, and if they want to play games we have little choice but to play along. But knowing that, you’d better have relationships with others you can call if they ultimately bail.

Went Salsas in Granger. Free chips, salsa and better ranch than Hacienda. Place has Hacienda vibes but with actual food that’s edible. Drinks are decent too.

My wife and kids have me pick up dinner from there quite often. They have a great jalapeño margarita

I really don't want to play their games.
