MS Paint enthusiast Hayes Fawcett just said that there’s a big decommitment coming this evening and gave no details.

Prayer thread may be in order.

we just never had it always put together and always had one position group with a glaring weakness.
Yeah he would always have a hole and then spend a bunch of time/resources plugging it which would then lead to another hole. And generally struggled with qb development.

But at certain points during his tenure he had national championship caliber rooms at each position.

He was a good DC and probably a lock down cornerback and pass rusher away in 2015 and probably just a great/elite quarterback and maybe a little more depth in the secondary for any of 2017-2019 teams away from having legit championship contending teams.

let’s just get it over with at this point. Does anyone actually expect Knight to be part of this class?

With NIL, there’s nothing stopping a school like GA Tech from overpaying for a rivals recruit just to fuck with them lmao. Not like NFL free agency where everyone clowns you if you disgustingly overpay for someone.

I know everyone wants to keep Deuce in the class but the odds of him signing with ND are low.

The odds of him staying after the first year are even lower.

The odds of him staying until it's his time to shine are lower yet.

If ND manages to win the recruitment, it's only the first of probably 3 that need to be won. Every year, other schools, will be showing up going:

If Notre Dame produces on the field and it needs to happen week 1- this will remind Deuce of why he committed and hopefully it catches the eyes of WR recruits.
There is a bigger picture than just one game. I'm telling you, and I've been saying it for years, if anybody commits to this program predicated off of the result of one game whether it was positive or negative I question that recruit's process from day one.

Manti saw ND lose at home to Syracuse on Senior Day. By this logic, he never comes to ND at all.

A stop reading this thread when everyone started posting with multiple paragraphs. Anything new here or just status quo?
Everyone? I think there is only one individual who apparently never had a teacher cover punctuation in grade school lol. Then maybe some quick trolling of said individual. Anyways, latest and greatest is that Auburn tried to full-court press him into a decision towards the end of last week, he said he wasn't ready, and the rumor is that they may have moved on. It's not a certainty, they may come back and let him make up his mind on his own timeline, but that's the feeling. It's worth mentioning they did something very similar with Julian Lewis when they were trying to flip him from USC; both sides were very interested, they wanted a commitment by a certain date, but he politely declined, and then they pivoted to Deuce.

I agree. To me, a flip here is meaningless other than optics. He is never going to play a meaningful down even if he comes. He may end up being a bullet dodged. Anyone know what plan B is if he flips?

This is so dumb and the first time I'm disappointed in how the kid is handling it. There is no benefit in waiting and you're doing a disservice to the schools by dragging it out.

If you want to flip, go ahead. But don't drag it out like this.

Benefit of the Doubt: Kid doesn't want to disappoint anyone, and has put a soft timeline on his final decision so he can figure out how best to disappoint MF and ND with the news.

Cynical: Another 17 days of seeing what ND will do with NIL to try and keep him, and/or what Auburn will do to raise the price on the flip

Option 3: Loy doesn't actually know and pushing the timeframe out that far allows for him to weasel out of it if it doesn't happen. "It was going that way at the time, but things changed..."
