that quote kinda reads like if another school makes a good enough offer to him, he might make a “business” decision. until then he plans on going to ND.
To me it reads similar to quotes he’s had in the recent past… he’s just doing his due diligence in case something were to change on the ND side. Has to protect himself. Haven’t heard one actual quite of his stating anything other than, it’s all ND

Weird quote

We're talking about a kid...

From....the deep south

That...committed early

Who's.....stock is blowing up

Also a kid that transferred to another high school in an entirely different state a few weeks before his season started and then transferred back to his hometown a few weeks after that

ND is his leader right now but if the receiver recruits don't come through and/or the offense looks like trash--I doubt he'll have any qualms about going somewhere else (nor should he from his own personal standpoint)

I think he likes ND and wants everything to pan out so he feels good about going there but I also don't think he's hiding the fact too much that there's contingencies involved. Most of the beat has stated as much.

It’s been said that the reason is in case of some drastic change from the current status quo such as a coaching change and not in case of money or a dream offer or something. Pretty safe to rest easy; ND won’t lose him due to some SEC school making a big iffer.

Or, he understands it's a 40 year decision.

some of you are insufferable. Kid has done nothing but support ND from the moment he committed. It's clear he is using those schools as an insurance policy, not a poker chip. He is doing the right thing and if you were in his position, you would be doing the same thing.

People blasting him are probably the same people hating their job and looking for new opportunities on indeed

100%. I bet some of them would even go so far as to get their company to pay for grad school just to bolt to another company once the degree is finished. Because....no contract says I can't. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Almost all contracts say you have to pay the grad school back to the company if you don't stay ~2 years after school is finished (sometimes it's even 5 years for a big masters program).

I'm good if Knight Stays for 2 years and is not leading to be the starter in 27 he's allowed to bolt and doesn't have to pay back ND or ND Fans.

While I don't disagree that this one will be a battle the rest of the way, I don't get the "blowing up" part. He was hovering around the Top 50 at the time he committed to ND on both Rivals and 247, where he's stayed since.

This isn't a Keely situation where he was a three-star at the time he committed and was a five-star by the end of the recruiting season. This is a guy who's always been seen as a top 100 player.

Yes, On3's Auburn site was saying as of last night: "there's a growing chance that Deuce visits for The Big Cat Weekend"

Note... recruits are only able to visit schools from July 25-31.

If this happens, Deuce would be putting off NDs Grill N' Chill in favour of Auburn. That would be no beuno.

The idea of any student athlete agreeing to play for Hugh Freeze is bonkers to me. Money talks I guess.

I'm not worried yet. Deuce has been enjoying the process all along. Future of the QB room is in great shape.

I don't think we've ever had a thread quite like this where the commit has been on campus numerous times, recruits for the good guys and continues to say he's where he wants to be, yet we have Chicken Little comments posted constantly.

Closest I remember was Jerry Tillery and his visiting LSU on the regular. There were a few on here that were convinced he was going to sign there even though he kept saying he is all in on ND.
