Ben is smart enough to know there's deep rifts between certain Muslim sects. Of course, the target audience of Ben laps it up and thinks why yes why don't the other brown people help them out! The other countries must have really stable and rational leadership like most other western countries! Welcoming means that they get immediate entry into the US and don't have to pass any security checks! Surely it won't be like Biden's other performative actions.

I would love to ask Dailywire viewers "How do you reconcile that you think muslim countries should just accept Gaza refugees, and yet you are extremely confrontational to a country that is more Christian than your own?"

What country are we confrontational with?

If you look at the way the GOP candidates were discussing the border at the debates, would strike me as pretty confrontational the language used on what they'd like to be done. Whether or not it's merited is another discussion, but to use that language and then turn around an expect much less rational countries to welcome in refugees who they have incredibly large differences with just because "muslim" is insane.

I feel like it's not quite apples to apples though, right? I can't say why other muslim countries won't take Gaza refugees, but the US wanting to secure the border has nothing to do with Christianity. Stemming the tide of illegal undocumented immigrants is necessary for a variety of reasons. For one, we're taking in a lot more than previously. We jumped to 1,000,000+ immigrants becoming lawful permanent residents the year Biden took over, which was a 44% increase from Trump's last year. That's fine if they've got a green card and are working, but it doesn't even include the many undocumented illegals which will still require housing, food, medical, etc. Mexico is no longer the leading source of migrants, in 2015 we saw a shift where South American and Asian countries now surpassed total Mexican numbers. We're seeing millions come to just this country over the last few years, many being undocumented, and these many Muslim countries can't resettle 500,000 people from Gaza?

It's not apples to apples - it's just the basis in which the assumption that other countries should take them in because they are muslim countries is flawed. Which using the religious based argument, the US should just accept all the southern border applicants because they from a very Christian country which is the favorable religion for Repubs. But, we know that isn't the case because there are more factors there.

All in all - my point is that saying other countries should take them in because they believe in the same religion is silly because it's not how people think about the southern border so why would more intolerant/insane countries do the same.

Palestinians are not terrible troublemakers because Syria won't take them.

Yeah, I'm in agreement there. The Muslim argument doesn't hold water, religion isn't a factor. They should absolutely take refugees, but I suppose it's their right to refuse. The US and Canada take in a lot of immigrants each year from various backgrounds and cultures.

I agree - as much we find fault in each others immigration positions, I think even the most conservative US person is probably more pro-refugee than some Syrian war lord or corrupt ass Hezbollah leader.

And TBH I think Ben is also wrong in framing the Palestinian support of Hamas. The living conditions in which they're brought up in they are subject to killing at the hands of the IDF and Hamas, but one side "pretends" to care about them which is why they'll pick Hamas over the IDF. Would be like how ND fans cheer for OSU in the UM game every year, because the hate for UM is more than the hate for OSU but by no means would I consider myself an OSU fan just stuck between two brutal factions.

(If you cheer for UM at any point you should be executed tbh)

No argument there!
Even when OSU was crushing them, couldn't see a good reason to side with them. Now that they've cheated to get back to the top and their fans are in full arrogant mode? Completely insufferable!

Amen. I hate them so much lmao I continued my On3 sub just so I can watch the fallout of the Harbaugh scandal(s). Literally nothing worse than them in sports.

Shapiro has a huge blind spot when it comes to Israeli-Palestine conflict. On the flip side, I believe most Americans don’t realize how complex & how far back this conflict goes. I’ve listened to the history of the conflict and it’s still impossible to put 100% blame on either side. Both sides have been through horrific violence inflicted by their adversaries. From the Pogroms in Eastern Europe to today, it’s a very complicated & sad history.

One of my wife's friends did an experiment. She found one of her Walmart carts/receipts from late 2020 and added all the same items to her online Walmart cart now.

The difference? For the same items:

2020- $350
2024- $550

The last 4 years have been pretty brutal, especially for those on the lower end financially.

Clown show.

Reversed his position on the border a bit too, although I'm not sure how much of Trump's actions he reinstated. I thought it was funny that Biden kept touting a plan to end the pandemic during his campaign and it ended up being the same plan Trump was already working on: get the jab out to people. Whether the jab worked or not is another question, there's at least questions now on possible side effects. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss...sort of.

Do you have heartburn over MF making over $6 million? ;)
Honestly... I think the run away coaching salary arms race (along with the construction of player specific dorms, new facilities, etc.) is a major issue that has been part of the build up to this crossroads we are at with CFB...
