given that they are shutting down the reserve the timing makes sense. I am all for government doing less - this is one of the few cases where they will be doing just that. If he really needs to bribe the northeast to carry those states it only highlights how terrible his re-election prospects look.

Wait, they're really shutting down the reserve? That seems like a bad idea. I realize Biden has used it a bit like his own piggy bank to try and stem rising gasoline prices, and they already reneged on a promise to refill it in April. Was the intent not to keep that reserve if an emergency should occur? If there's no reserve that's troubling. I only did a quick Google search, but didn't see anything related to it getting shutdown. All I saw was the sale of 1 million barrels occurring and the refill getting vetoed last month.

I read it as a gasoline reserve exclusively for the Northeast, not the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. SPR is a great example of something done in the interest of national security that didn't take long to become a political football. What good is the SPR if it is milked for economic reasons while at the same time global tensions are escalated? Shouldn't it be topped off and overflowing given the rash of war DC is jizzing all over?

Overall Trump is still leading. Very interested to see how things with the aggregated polls look post-conviction for Trump. My guess is Trump sees a bump in support, as fence-leaning republicans who would have likely said undecided in these polls are more likely to say they'd support Trump. Hell, I was probably going to write in DeSantis before the conviction. The debates will be interesting as well, although the moderators are going to do whatever they can to prop up Biden. I'm sure his team already has all of the questions.

The recent WSJ article on Biden's mental status is brutal. They spoke to more than 40 people from staff to Congressional members from both parties, and the consensus is that he has noticeably slipped and his memory, never great, has become significantly worse. In meetings he mumbles and can't be understood, rambles incoherently, forgets a matter has already been discussed and decided upon, wanders aimlessly, and etc. He's 81 and clearly has dementia. He can't help that and is to be pitied. The people propping him up for political gain and the dolts voting for him are shameless.

Can't wait for 1-2 years from now when Staffers come out and spill the beans on just how mush brained Biden has been for his presidency and the leftist media cohort will suddenly act surprised about it and hit us with the "Wow there was no way we could have known about this!"

Sort of exactly as they have treated all of the COVID revelations and fallout as it has become apparent that Fauci was full of shit the whole time and the vaccines were not even close to as effective as claimed.
