I’m just not getting my hopes up on him. Pulling a kid from the Deep South, Mississippi, and with no Notre Dame or Catholic ties will be tough. I just don’t see the “fit.”

I don’t expect him in the class, but it’d be a nice surprise.

I’d be nervous about Duece if we didn’t already have two studs ahead of him in back to back classes.
Notre Dame proving they can pull qb talent through the portal makes recruiting less stressful.

Agree

The probability of him signing and then staying patient sitting around South Bend for 2-3 years behind either Minchey or Carr seems pretty unplausible

Fit can be overcome, especially in the NIL era. Bus, Rice and many others overcame fit with most likely just some minor cheating here and there cuz they knew ND puts people in the league. That's still the case and they are now making money on top of it.

The bigger problem for Duece is window. He'll have 2-3... hell maybe 4 guys ahead of him and most likely a more polished high 4+ guy on his heels in '26.

At this point if he stays, he might have a better chance at becoming ND's Donaven McCulley than the next DeShone Kizer.

Deuce has all of the raw ability to become the best QB on our roster and is it even close? Will he develope and realize that potential? Who knows, but that will be the million dollar question anywhere he goes. I sure hope we get to find out here.

A good friend of mine (Ole Miss guy in Madison, MS) said this kid was truly special, and a rare athlete. Sounds like ND has a great one.

God, truer words have never been spoken. You can be an elite, 5 star, blue chip player with offers from Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Texas, Michigan, Florida, USC, Florida State, etc. and ole Bert Bielema can come in and offer you $5MM to play...and....well....

We’ve seen this story.

When an ND QB commit performs well at a camp: “While the young man performed well and certainly looks like a top-10 signal caller, we need to see him on Friday nights outside of a structured 7-on-7 environment before any significant bump in the rankings ahead of guys he outperformed.”

When an ND QB commit is playing well during the year: “He’s putting up monster numbers and looks like everything you want in a QB. We just haven’t seen him against enough elite competition to this point.”

When the kid does both: “We really can’t project him fully until we see him in a college offense because of his unique skill set and experience.”

I’m convinced that had Arch Manning committed to ND, the services would have dropped him to the average four-star QB that he looked like in HS.
