They got the dub, which was all I really cared about. Wasn't putting it into the context of anything else having to do with Ohio State, Louisville, Clemson, Parker, etc. The Sun Bowl was the beginning of the 2024 season for me. I have to have hope that in some way it was the same for the staff and players.

You finish the season regardless of circumstance if you have the opportunity. Plain and simple. A lot of guys stepped up and made the most of their opportunities yesterday. Spring and preseason camp will allow them to do more of the same in a larger sampling size.

Marcus Freeman is the right man at the right time for this program. Perhaps he proves otherwise, but if there is one thing that he seems to project better than anyone has in a long ass time, it's that Notre Dame is special and different. That's the sell you have to make in an era of individualism more than anything else: buy into the spirit of the campus and of the program. Put your talents into something even bigger than you.

2024. Rally.
Great post, I'll also add MF has the humility needed to make certain changed for continued improvement.

That combo in the booth for the broadcast was straight hot garbage.

Mike Evans?
Steve Peanut Butter and Anjeli?
Down at the 1 yd line? Was actually the 6.
Picked up 9 yards? Actually picked up 4.
Showing and talking about Beavs opt outs and not ND’s?
Jayden Thomas is a big TE?
And on and on.
Go back to the $EC or retire please.

There may have been, but overall he was a True frosh making his first start and lining up across from their best defensive player on the field and did a pretty solid job. He seemed to settle in as the game went on, and also had a couple plays where his body language showed he wasnt as effective as he thought he should have been even if his man didnt have any impact on the play….i liked that, Not settling.
I still think if there was an experienced starting LT in the portal that we could snag, you make that move. Jags, to me, looks and performs like a mauling RT.

Very hindsight take here.

We got lucky and found a diamond in the rough. Dude didn't even have a football power 5 offer did he?

I disagree. He's just saying the same things that many people were saying half-way though the season.

Couldn't even begin to tell you how many times they mispronounced players names.

Nessler was talking about ND being without their top rusher for the game and he just refused to even take a stab at saying Audric Estime's name. They completely phoned it in.

Pardon me for my ignorance but when I watch Faison when he moves, he is making lacrosse feignts and spin moves…. That typical WRs do not make. For example the route on his touchdown legit looked like he was in a lax game and spun towards the goal to take a shot. When he was running down the sideline after a catch he spun out of tackles twice. Unique player IMO.

His lax repertoire is definitely on display. Watch his initial jab step and split and then his roll dodges in traffic which are what happens when you’re dodging the “slide” or double team. He’s got great body control and spatial awareness.

The vibes I got from this statement was he wanted to play in the game, but the coaches told him to sit so Steve could get his chance.
I think Sampson said that if ND got to a bigger bowl game (or played LSU), Hartman would have played. So maybe there's some truth to the staff just deciding to see what Angeli had.

Not really. The beat raved about Faizon in camp and our WR’s (especially after JT and JG injuries) were unable to separate or make plays. I was legitimately confused why he wasn’t getting PT after game 3 and I know I wasn’t the only one.

i believe Danielson is retiring. Nessler said something to that effect late in the broadcast.

For the amount of crap they’ve gone through over the last month, respect for the humor.
I feel for Oregon state. They are getting royally f’d by the conference realignment. It’s going to be a long offseason for them

Neither of them noticed that Bolden missed AT LEAST the last two series right before half. Sideline announcer was finally able to give an update right before the second half kickoff

Who the hell cares about announcer slips? I'd rather watch and enjoy the ballgame ... who needs itty-bit "perfection" about shallow things?

The only thing which separates good announcing from mediocre announcing is whether the "color analyst" can break down plays and strategies as they happen. Danielson was pretty good at that. The only thing for me that creates a bad announcer is some form of anti-team prejudice (a la Flutie or worse.) Danielson has had glimmers of that in his recent career, but not yesterday. The rest of these "intolerable" imperfections resemble objections what gossips chirp about. As to the game announcer (can't even remember his name), why focus on him instead of getting into the play of the game itself?

.... I just had a moment of revelation ... why the hell am I bothering to even type about this meaningless crap? Apologies.

I agree somewhat. To me, i laugh at some of the silly nonsense or things they say that make it obvious they aren’t completely familiar with the team personnel.
I want a guy to be able to explain the game and point out things i might not otherwise know or realize. I want them to not drift off for too long talking about unrelated nonsense like Jason and Jac do all too often, and be able to capture the emotion and momentum of the game in a way that sounds genuine and authentic. Oh and not have an annoying voice or show bias towards any one team. The more accurate and relevant information they pipe in about the teams or players is just icing on the cake.

Can we please stop posting Hartman photos and videos? For the love of all that’s mighty, every time they showed him on TV, my girlfriend got all worked up. Hell, I’m spent right now and think I would shoot dust if she gets after it again tonight all because I accidentally left my phone unlocked and on IE.

Do your brother a solid here ya’ll. I’m gassed.
