So we ran into some server issues and had to hire out some work to be done. We will keep you updated but as of right now...at least we're online! ha

Had to revert to a backup so posts from the last few days may be missing.

Cack and I had some good exchanges about the origins of the universe (they may have laid some breadcrumbs for future scientific breakthroughs) and we had a few days of very few shitposts. People were genuinely excited about the future of ND fb. POOF, vaporized by the SSL demons.

I don't know if there exists a plenary indulgence to cover this transgression.

So for a long time now I’ve chosen to use the site through Safari on iPhone because I felt like I had an easier time navigating compared to Tapatalk. As of this morning, I now get a giant ad at the top of the page, an additional drop down tab with an ad at the top, two ads in the middle of the thread list, and four to five ads at the bottom of the page. So 8-9 total ads just on the front page, not counting what shows up in any given thread.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Is it a Safari problem? Sadly, if that level of intrusiveness is the new normal I’m not sure how much time I’ll spend here moving forward.

Yeah on iPhone I only get the closeable ad at the top and the one at the bottom of the page.

EDIT: OK yeah I get the giant ad too after refresh. I know we didn't change anything, let me ask people who actually know how this stuff works.

Chrome on my phone also has a larger than usual ad at the top, in addition to the usual drop down ad and bottom ad

I'll look into it, I don't spend much time on Safari, I know on PC how its set up and I would say the ads are less obtrusive than any other sports site.

I thought it was just me, I use Chrome and the ads have been unbearable today, there are way more and they are all huge

You need to get an ad blocker. I use Safari all the time for this site and never have ads.

On Chrome. I turned my adblocker off and on and the big ads went away.

Definitely appreciate those of you who allow our ads to be seen so that the site can generate money and continue running!

Definitely do not want ads to be that obnoxious though. We'll work on that, but like Lax said, I do not think we changed anything on our end that would have caused the ads to grow in size.
