Right after they put a stop to the coaching carousel.Let's hope Congress stops this transfer portal BS in It's Tracks.
It's nothing but greed and Narcissism, and the results of It are Buchner like 99% of the time...
If (BIG if) it's true that CT, TM, and BJ were all going portal hopping regardless and only RF jumped because of what happened with Stuckey...then I don't see how this could be true.Hot take, Stucky is being used as the scapegoat, and the players know it
I’ve been hesitant to say this, but in all honesty, when ever I found myself seriously questioning wtf the receiver who was on a major screw up, it was either Flores or Merriweather. That’s not to say they didn’t improve over the season, but I can’t seriously say I’m destroyed by their decision to leave.Honest questions:
Does anybody thinking with a year of experience and development under belt that Faison cant be every bit if what Tyree was this year?
Are a healthy Greathouse and Thomas better than Flores and Merriweather?
If we land 1 or two of the guys being talked about in the portal (especially if we land 2), are they an upgrade over pretty much anything we had on the roster this year?
Will KK smith and the 3 incoming freshman provide the depth that merriweather or anybody else who played this year did?
There is still a parh for our WR room to be greatly improved next year. The keys to this are:
1. Hiring a legit WR coach
2. Holding onto the rest of the guys on the roster
3. Hold onto the current commits
4. Land 2 portal WR. Ideally at least of the top tier guys being discussed.
I dont see why any of this is unrealistic honestly.
If this was run as a business, the coach Is the CEO. Of course they have the obvious discretions....Right after they put a stop to the coaching carousel.

I disagree, I can. These boys aren’t playing football for the first time in their lives, haven’t played year round ball, gone to camps since they were In diapers. If they want NIL money they get NIL expectations.Flores was a true freshman.
You can’t be upset at him for screwing up at all, especially since you even said he improved through the season.
And Rico’s mistakes were more physical limitationsI disagree, I can. These boys aren’t playing football for the first time in their lives, haven’t played year round ball, gone to camps since they were In diapers. If they want NIL money they get NIL expectations.
Yep, he got processed. NEXT MAN INI disagree, I can. These boys aren’t playing football for the first time in their lives, haven’t played year round ball, gone to camps since they were In diapers. If they want NIL money they get NIL expectations.
Very fair. We're not better off today than we were a week ago (unless we think there were malcontents causing division in the locker room). And that's fine. But to say that you are counterbalancing extreme pessimism with extreme optimism is still going to get called out for what it is.
Completely irrational to say we're better off today, without new players. Just as irrational as the "sky is falling" crowd.
We MIGHT be better off wrt WR coach, we just don't know yet. But I agree - there is no way to WR corps is better after losing 4 guys.Very fair. We're not better off today than we were a week ago (unless we think there were malcontents causing division in the locker room).
We hope to be better off by the end of the portal period. Time to wait and see.
A bit mean spirited.Like most ND transfer outs they will go on to not make a blip on the Richter scale. None of the receivers are leaving with a degree and none of them will be playing pro ball. I doubt any of them will exceed low 6 figures in NIL money as well.
Should've ran Estime at least 18-20 each game, Hartman was playing "Hot Potato" with the Football against L'ville.Agree, it just makes no sense to rush to fire him, still lose a ton of players, and not have someone lined up to come in. Seems like a complete emotional reaction that CAN NOT happen when leading a major program/organization.
Freeman firing stuckey feels very smilar to freemans emotional poor decision vs Louisville to go for it 4th and 11, on our 35, with 10 minutes to go only down 11. The drive before he kicked a 54 yd FG when we had it in louisvlile territory on 3rd and 3. Ran the ball, gained no yards, and then kicked a fg. If you run it there it's to go for it on fourth down. It feels like he panics in challenging situations.
Freeman makes TERRIBLE reactive emotional decisions it seems.
Canteen was well before the portal, I believe that was 2016 or '17im seeing a ton of hopium on the portal saving the wr room.
NDs history of WRs in the portal is not good at all.
Kaleb Smith - barely even found the locker room.
Freddy Canteen - 1 catch for 7 yards. ONE CATCH.
who am I missing?
Flores actually has the better measurables 4.58 to 4.63 and 37" VJ to 34" VJJayden is stronger bodied
And faster.
And jumps higher
And probably other things too
Guyton, Young and Keys in recent memoryA better question might be when have one of our WRs transferred out and it led
A couple of these guys WILL be draftedA bit mean spirited.
Isn’t it just as simple that he’s homesick. At least if he’s in CA his family can possibly see him play 6 or 7 times a yearThis is the most bizarre transfer decision I have seen to date.
My guess is November was too cold and he couldn’t fathom surviving the winterThis is the most bizarre transfer decision I have seen to date.
