I think the point is that JJ knew someone, anyone would take the photo and run with it.

Maybe it’s legit… but it looks corny after it’s been done so many times*, even if it is a genuine moment where a true competitor is trying to absorb motivation and do that whole “remember what this feels like, so we can never feel it again” thing.

Hey they have to run that OOC gauntlet of East Carolina, UNLV and Bowling Green next September. Then the usual Big Ten slate. They do have road games at Nebraska, Sparty and Penn State at least. Ohio State at home. Another year in the vicinity of 11-1 is certainly possible. Gross.

FWIW, Shane Walton is a 247 subscriber, from La Jolla, and is now back coaching Buchner. He absolutely gushes about the kid both athletically and personally. His camp thinks if healthy he's going to have a monster year. At this point the staff loves Buchner and where they stand with him. Only time will tell if that is the right strategy.
