If suspended, maybe Coach could "signal" in plays to the sidelines from the stands? Or have cheerleaders do it for him?
The visual of having cheerleaders sending in the plays via signals makes me laugh and could be an entertaining game to watch.
But then I googled Michigan cheerleaders. They need to work on recruiting, the talent there is weak.

Think of the dumbest person you know.

Now realize that there are millions of people as dumb if not dumber than that person.

Now realize that there are football coaches among those millions and that several of them would be able to beat James Franklin in a big game.

The truth -- which no one is saying, for obvious reasons -- is that the reason this is "botched" is because schools are supposed to self-police. If Harbaugh had been 5-3 when this story broke everyone knows Michigan would've stepped in and suspended him. Instead, they are an undefeated top 5 team.

The difference between ND and Michigan is that when ND finds out stuff (like the Frozen Five) they take proactive action. You could argue that was a mistake for ND. Michigan is trying to use the Auburn playbook and deny/obfuscate as long as possible and try to finish the season. That's why all of their complaints are about it being "rushed" or "due process" not "hey we're innocent and cooperating."

This has put me in the unenviable spot of cheering for pOSU. My two favorite teams are the Irish and whoever is playing pOSU.

In what sense is this "botched?" If anything the Big Ten is botching it by not coming down harder/faster.

There is a mountain of evidence available right now that Michigan knowingly, repeatedly, violated a clear rule to give themselves an on-field competitive advantage in games played this season. There is no clearer example of cheating in sports than that. They're not even denying it, just throwing up a bunch of obfuscation and whataboutism.

If they're allowed to simply play out the season, unsanctioned, and perhaps win the national championship, only to then sometime next year get that championship "vacated" over things that we already know happened, it makes a farce of the entire enterprise. And it tells the rest of college football to go do the same shit because you're not really going to be punished for it. That - not suspending the head coach for a few games - would be botching this.

pOSU is the lesser of two evils always. Your logic statements should read like this:

1st: ND
2nd: Whoever is playing pOSU, unless that team is Michigan.

It's also acceptable to root for a meteor to hit the field if pOSU and Michigan are playing.

I could care less if Harbaugh is suspended. That is a meaningless punishment. Nothing less than this, I would be greatly disappointed..

1.) Harbaugh fired immediately
2.) 4 year postseason ban, effective immediately.
3.) Vacated wins for the past three seasons
4.) Scholarship reduction to 60 per year, beginning next fall, for four years.

The funniest part of all of this is that they are going to cut ties with Harbaugh the second they lose. It probably won't be to State Penn, but if they lose to Ohio State he's gone. They are fighting to protect him now because they see that as protecting their season and the chance at a title. Once the title dream is over he's dispensable to them.

Maybe. Could be waiting for the end of the day to prevent scUM attorneys from getting an emergency motion for injunctive relief heard before the PSU game.

How would that work with courts closed today? Assuming there’s a work around for that.

I'm sure they could find a judge that's a Michigan Man that would hear the appeal ASAP. That's why I don't think the Big10 is waiting. I just thing they turned chicken and won't do anything before this weekend (and probably not at all).

That actually makes the scenario easier to pull off...no one is paying attention to the cheerleaders except the signal callers.

Depends on the court. Every jurisdiction will have their own procedure for emergency motions. Legal and notice issues aside, there will be practical difficulties to have a motion heard if it's filed after 5pm on a Friday. An in person hearing would require the court room to be open. That requires more than just a judge showing up to the courtroom - may need security, court deputy, court reporter etc. It could be done his zoom. That'll make it a bit easier.

I'm sure MI attorneys have this briefed out and ready to file. If it's filed and heard before the game, the judge would have to rule without giving BIG any time to respond. It'll be interesting.

Tbh I hope he coaches against PSU. Makes it a bigger distraction for everyone. I got money on PSU +6.5... hoping the Zebras cook this one.

If the Big Ten cannot vacate wins, and they suspend Harbaugh, what is stopping Harbaugh from coaching?

This has been my stance. Refs can solve this issue for the BIG
