What is this a cult? Don’t think there’s a consensus on this matter bc we aren’t sure what the deal is.

I like Wafle. Not sure how high of ceiling he would have had, but I still believe he’ll be a solid college player.

I see the Michigan chatter, but I wonder if Elko goes hard after him. He’s a Duke Legacy.

If he was indeed trying to visit Michigan then it's a zero tolerance policy and I understand the decision.

If it wasn't, then I'm with you and I see a solid prospect that likely holds some value to the depth chart at some point in his collegiate career. Listed at 6'2, 290 and built like a brick shit house. He has much less physical development in front of him than say a Sevillano. And he's a decent athlete at that size. I think we'd be looking at a slightly bigger/better version of Kurt Hinish.

Do we need better than that to win a Natty? Yes, we do. Do we have better than that in this class? Not yet. Is Sean Sevillano that prospect? I don't think so.

So, it might be a slight upgrade in prospect at the risk of leaving us exposed in the event things don't go our way. I'd have 2 DT's with Scott being the 3rd if in the end he can say no to the big money. I don't like the risk reward of this, if it was just the coach's decision.

22 sacks as a junior as a idl? Idk if he is really as poor as you guys are making him out to be, but I am no expert

The argument is that he doesn’t play at the highest level of Florida High School football. The film shows a gap between his competition and the top level competition in the state.

Unsure how you reached that conclusion from what I said.

I said I think Wafle is a solid prospect and he’s a slight upgrade. Don’t understand how one could interpret that as saying he’s bad, unless you’re trying too.

I also said he isn’t a championship level DT. There is a lot of good between bad and a first day DT.

What makes you think he’s not a championship dt though? His rating? His measurables? Because he is dominating lower level competition, like someone being recruited should

I’m not trying to be rude, I’m genuinely curious why we are low on him when he has great stats

I don't believe I'm low on him. I believe I have a higher opinion of him than most sites do.

He lacks ideal height/length for an elite DT. Likely sub 6'2. Doesn't mean he can't be just means odds are stacked against him. I think he shows very good balance, leverage, and burst. But, he needs some body work and will likely max out below someone that is taller/longer. The competition is terrible so seeing how he performs against bigger guys would only help. He looked good at a camp setting I saw footage of. But again, short/wide, quick of the ball DT. Love it.

As I posted in his thread. This is a quality prospect. But, he's no different than the Howard Cross's and Jacob Lacey's of the world. Solid additions to a depth chart but the very type of DT prospect nobody wanted, a few months ago.

Wouldn’t this be the second player in recent classes to lave us for scUM? Not the other way around?

What’s your take on it?
I didn’t think he was a hot recruit but man did Driskell swear by him and I do think Driskell views lots of film. To his credit he has stayed w his opinion on this kid.

I would think the staff see a couple better recruits ahead to let him go.

To be fair, Jacob Lacey was a fairly highly rated DT who held offers from Clemson, Tennessee, Penn State and Michigan. Teams definitely wanted him.

Sevillano appears to have a higher physical ceiling than either of them. Lacey and Cross could never seem to get past 280-290 in a college weight room. Sevillano is 325 as is.

Now, I think he has a good bit of development needed in order to cut the bad weight and add more good weight, but I'd say he can carry a good bit more weight and play the NT spot compared to either of those two.

I'm not sure if he's a championship caliber DT, but the fact that he is able to consistently show that level of balance, leverage and burst, while playing at 325 for his height is a good sign that he can play at a significantly higher weight than Cross or Lacey while it not hindering any of those qualities.
