The haunting loss is not Louisville, we deserved to get our shit kicked that game. The Ohio St game is the one that will continue to haunt us.
I dunno. OSU stung because we easily could have won that game. Obviously Louisville could have been won too if our OC doesn't shit the bed and we execute better, but we're still in the playoff probably after the OSU loss given how close it was. If we beat OSU and still lose to Louisville that reflects badly though given the opponent and score.

I don't have access, but the LA Times published an article this past week about Lincoln Riley publicly mulling early retirement/an easier lifestyle (NFL). I don't think he's going to be at USC that long. If you ask a lot of their fans, sounds like they're ok with that- a lot of people hate how soft the program is
His style would likely work well in The NFL

For CFP purposes it’d probably be better for us to have beaten OSU and lost to Louisville than the other way around. Big wins matter most, and if it came down to us and OSU for the fourth spot we’d have the edge. You could write losing to Louisville off to a bad night in a tough stretch.
Oh well…

Hartman with 126 yards and most of them to Tyree still confuses the hell out of me. This USC D is weak, I'm still waiting for that balled out game....is it Hartman or Porker??
Yes

I don't know. We've gotten into the playoff on 1 loss to a very good team before. We haven't gotten into the playoff with 1 loss to a mediocre team.

Past history says it's not Hartman, he's shown he can execute with less (Although our WR have been banged up and are still young). It's mostly on Porker.

Are we supposed to believe the ACC's 2nd all-time leading passer suddenly forgot how to QB after leaving WF and coming to ND? This is yet another Parker problem.

Couldn't watch the game, did a weekend in Grand Forks, ND with some friends for the annual NDSU beatdown of UND and some college hockey. Unfortunately for me, NDSU got boatraced 49-24.

During and following the game, I was under siege. This was the equivalent to Auburn embarrassing Alabama.

The only thing that saved me was celebrating Notre Dame running it up on USC. North Dakota as a whole is pretty friendly to Notre Dame, gave us all something to bond over.

Agree other than rice had a td and some drops … Morrison didn’t dominate him

Penalties are one thing but sloppy face mask (again) and constant holding needs to be cleaned up

Yes he and hart are on islands a lot and why our pass D is so good, but he can’t be making the moronic penalties like he did yesterday, and he’s done that a few times this year
I agree. This being halfway through his sophomore season, he should play perfect every play. No excuses

It’s interesting that you classify your observations and others like putup etc as “giving a shit enough about where we need to improve” as if your perspectives don’t have flaws or that you have to be a pessimist/contrarian to truly care about ND football. Just because posters aren’t recycling the same basic criticisms or being hypercritical doesn’t mean they don’t see what you see or don’t have strong opinions about how to improve the team. It’s more like some posters choose not to be know-it-alls at the expense of justified positives. Secondly, in the larger scheme of things, you and the enlightened poster patrol have no sway on this program. Like zilch. The only thing you can change is whether you give personal dollars and attention to the program. So have some fun and stop bragging about caring more about this program because you piss in some cheerios.
You have low standards. Everything ND pleases you and is good, but I have more respect for ND and I bet all the coaches do to. I want more experiences like last night, so I can both enjoy the win as well as discuss which gaps need to be closed without hindering my enjoyment.

You can't name a single statement I've made about a player that you're willing to critique (we've done this dance).

You about had a heart attack when I was first to predict Tobias would struggle, that Kiser isn't going to combine, and everything since. Your track record is awful and I wouldn't be this "mean" to you but you're relentless in pretending I've been off target.

I'm aware I have no impact on the program, never said I did. Really weird comment but at least you tried to have somethint to say something I guess. Move on, I have no interest in your posts and never look for them. If I bother you so much, match my disinterest.

You turn every thread you enter into a diatribe about the admin, staff and/or players. Here’s the thing — you are hindering our enjoyment by being overtly and trollishly negative and cocksure in every thread about every topic. I propose your own thread where people can go talk in circles and self-inflate their football chops and leave the rest of the threads for folks who just want to enjoy the win and support the team.

Had a long drive to Tupelo today so listened to the Peristyle “emergency” USC podcast w/ Ryan Abraham & crew. One of the takeaways all four of them agreed on was that the SC defense played well enough to win which was a refreshing improvement from what they’ve watched. They acknowledged that ND had short fields on most of their scoring drives but they still took the D’s overall play as a positive. Weird but they were definitely “glass half full” guys. I’m afraid they’ll realize they were wrong when they rack up 2-3 more losses before season’s end. LOL.

Signature win for the Marcus Freeman era. Lets the kids (including my nephews) storm the field. As for the kid trolling Caleb Williams, that was benign and maybe some karma at work. California love in the background was a solid choice.

I don't think I've ever watched a game where the team I'm supporting is up 18 late in the third quarter and I'm sitting at home feeling like they're chasing the game. That's what this 2023 Notre Dame offense has done to me.

Outstanding defensive performance, but in the end a TEAM win.

Xavier Watts. Wow, Xavier Watts. The kid had a game. Thanks Del for recruiting him. Really fun to watch him grow into the player he is becoming. Well done O'Leary...

Defensive line was disruptive. Lots of guy making plays and putting pressure on CW. Kept CW in the pocket so he couldn't make magic like he often does. That last sack before half by Traore was unreal. He was in the backfield super quick and his burst off the ball was incredible. He is gonna be a good one. Well done Washington...

Thomas Harper, Cam Hart and BenMo basically shut down the deepest receiving corp in college football. Hart's name was only called when he made great plays and he was hardly targeted all night. That was fun to watch. Well done Mickens...

This team came out ready to punch USC in the mouth form the start - and they did! After last week none of knew what to expect, but they sure were ready to play. Well done Freeman...

Imagine being a fan of a team that has the returning Heisman winner and expected #1 draft pick as your QB, four and five star receivers 8 deep, one of the most exciting freshman WR in the country, an offensive genius as your head coach, and you produce two TD drives and one of those was for 18 yards! Talk about being upset with your offensive coaches...

Not sure where to ask this. Is Harper a one and done DB, or could he come back?

Really interested to see which freshman start getting run with 4 games to go and the BYE week to prep them. Hoping to see some Daryk Bowen at LB.
