Payne will get plenty of playing time next season. I see us using 3 backs (Price, Love, Payne). If Ford comes back he'll likely be the 4th and used on special teams unless one of the incoming freshman surpasses him.

He needs more touches now period. Know they are tough to fit in with the personnel we have, but the guy is explosive and shifty. Big too. Bet him and Love get a decent amount of touches v. Ohio St.

He’s fun to watch.

Selfishly as fan I want see more but I can see an argument in where the usage makes sense. At least up to this point.

He is a joy. I do like the rotation keeps some of the tread on the tires for all of them.

The team has a few Sophie's Choices to make in the next few weeks.
There's no reason to grind up #7 with 20+ carries, but he still need 15. Everyone else getting only 3-5 touches can't get in a rhythm.

Heavy rotation in the first half of games to keep 7 fresh, then he runs over tired teams in close games or the kids play in blowouts.

I'd like to see them give each back their own series when 7 needs a breather instead of rotating them every play.

Freshmen getting early playing time will pay off with recruiting so it's important to keep feeding Love.

Or are the coaches rotating the young RB's on the basis of what each brings to the table for the upcoming play? As talented as they are, they still have some learning to do execution wise.

How irrelevant is Logan Diggs? It'd only be a bigger problem if he were still here.

Well that creates tendencies that any average defensive staff will sniff out and stuff.
Maybe that's why the line struggled today?

I understand why they are being careful with Price. An achilles has a unique recovery timeline so I'm sure this is the staff being cautious.

Having said that, sign me up for 3-5 more touches for Price and Love per game. You know that offensive game plan against Central Michigan was extremely vanilla, to the point that it likely included some misleads in formations/routes.

It’s only a “problem” if you want to make it one. It’s awesome. I can remember plenty of seasons when we barely had one good running back. Now we have four or five? Sign me up.

FWIW Diggs looks to have emerged as LSU’s #1 RB. Led their RBs in yards and carries each of the last two weeks. Good on him.

Estime right now is the best back on the team. He is showing strength, quickness and is blocking. He has the most experience so he should be the the top. He needs to have the most carries. They need to understand that next year they will be the leaders.

I get there’s packages but I don’t get how you out Payne or ford in instead of price/love.

Love has ran a few long wheel routes out of backfield, one was really open yesterday Sam didn’t see. May see a long td pass to rb soon. Hopefully vs osu

Here's the play I'm talking about. Starts at 4:00

This looks like Bijan Robinson. Look at the burst he displays going around the corner.

Yeah, that stop/start froze the defender. It was smooth and quick.

Yeah, good for him, but f*ck that fake-ass coach that he plays for!!!

A very likely outcome that's going to happen soon. I'm ready for it but am not concerning myself with it now.

Go Irish, beat Buckturds.

If DMC leaves, let it be this season, then we can hire Nagle, who is a former RB coach, he brings Platt, and Porker can coach TE. Best case?

Just remember that he’s probably not even 100% back from his achilles. There’s a chance that he gets better.
Anyone notice he seems to run on his heels? Most people with elite speed run on the balls of their feet. Wonder if the Achilles injury has something to do with it?
