Lions go from 4th place schedule to 2nd place schedule. Their win total is at 9.5 and I would hammer that under.
I'm thinking they'll hit the over, but I'm not confident enough to bet on it. I know the Vikings were incredibly lucky last year with the amount of close wins they had and such a small point differential, but if they even improve marginally defensively to support the offense, I think they can still make some noise.

If Jordan Love is ready sooner than people think, Pack could be good. If Justin Fields gets a little more protection and establishes rapport with his new look offense, they could be sneaky good.

Anyone's division, IMO. Detroit the favorite, but again...same old Lions?

Bears have 2 first round picks, 2 fourth round picks, a second, third, fifth and sixth in the 2024 draft. The Patriots have their 7th rounder.

Great spot to be in as far as capital goes. If Claypool does well, he could have his pick as a free agent. Depending on how Fields does, he could be swayed to stay with him and sign a contract with Chicago if they'll have him.

Much of this depends on him.

Thought amongst Bears fans is that Claypool is likely competing with Mooney for a contract as Poles would likely not give big money to both.

Correct. It's a big year for both them in the grand scheme of things. Only one can stay, and maybe both end up going.

No Free agents stand out other than Tee Higgins in 2024 and with two first round picks the Bears could go for Harrison, Nabers and or Egbuka in the draft. Claypool has to play big and maybe seeing Kmet get new paper is enough to motivate him.

An absolutely massive reason why Poles demanded DJ Moore, as the Bengals are not stupid enough to let Higgins leave...right?

If they can afford to keep him, I don't see any reason why you let him leave.

He's going to be highly pursued is my guess, however.

If I'm Burrow I know I'm going to be making millions on the side in endorsement deals. I'd take less to make sure I can keep the WRs.

He's a top ten FA in 2024 and likely THE top WR. He wants to stay, they want to keep him, but getting something done is going to be easier said than done.
Maybe they can find a way to front load the deal since Chase has a 5th year option that way the 3 cap hits can be smoothed out? Cause another thing is having Higgins on a contract is a massive asset in case they need to make splash via trade later.

I don't know that the Bears are going to be players for Higgins. He's simply the highest rated 2024 FA right now at WR. With two first round picks, it stands to reason that they could get a top WR with one of those picks depending on where they and the Panthers fall, but that's a very long way off.

If Claypool has a big year, it solves a problem for both him and the Bears. They can work out a way to keep him and perhaps address other needs with those first round picks.

Oh I was talking Bengals. I forgot that we were still in Claypool’s thread. Yeah I think getting Moore means the Bears would likely not be in the mix for Higgins.

Claypool balling out is best for everyone minus Mooney as you said.

Kyle Brandt calls out an unnamed Bear at the end of the segment. Says he doesn’t expect him to be out there much longer. Most think he’s talking about Claypool

I've been disappointed in his NFL career. He has the tools to be a top receiver, but my impression is he is too enamored with the "perks" that go along with being an NFL player and isn't investing in the grind to stay in the league.

A lot of comments think he's talking about Eddie Jackson too. Pro Bowler that disappeared.

All-around, the Bears look like a poorly coached team.

The coordination from both sides of the ball was absolutely abysmal. They came in with probably the dumbest game plan imaginable.

I kind of feel bad for Fields. Dude clearly has the talent, but he isn't going to be able to develop properly if he is stuck with an OL this abysmal and a play caller this clueless. Oh, we got a legit #1 receiver in DJ Moore. What should we do with him? I know! Let's target him all of twice and spend the rest of the game throwing screens and 3-yards behind the line of scrimmage. Sure, we're down 18 pounds, but who cares, let's not try and push it downfield. That's stupid. Run, run, short screen pass. That's the offense of the future!

And to tie it together, Claypool was beyond disappointing. It's like every year he looks more and more disinterested in actually playing the sport.

I mean, Claypool showed absolutely no effort in blocking a simple wide receiver screen that should have gotten at least 5 yards but went for a loss because of his lack of effort. He won't be in the league after this year for sure.

I feel like a lot of NFL OC's are honestly kinda aimless in what they're doing and I wonder how often it has to do with roster construction. Like how often do they go "well this is what I want to do but I know our OL can't block anybody so I guess I'll do XYZ instead."

The most insane game was Steelers vs 49ers where Najee Harris was getting 5 yards a carry and yet they threw it 40+ times with Pickett and only gave Harris 6 carries. Meanwhile a real OC in Sean McVay had a 40/40 run-pass split even though Cam Akers was sucking because he thought it was important to keep the opponent honest.

Harris was never getting 5 yards a carry lol

Further evidence that Justin Fields isn't the at the center of the issue. He could be better, but if people are going to continue to lay the losses at his feet because he's QB1, team sports continue to lack progress when it comes to sports culture's common sense or lack thereof.

I feel like Claypool should just stay off the field and in the medical tent at this point.
