I thought Stroud was a big-time gamer, but so was Fields.

Ohio State has kind of a track record lately of putting out excellent products at QB and them producing pretty much immediately.
Yes they do, but neither McCord nor Brown seized the job at all in the spring game. Highly doubt either are close to good or effective as Stroud. They also lost some serious talent from the '22 team in addition to Stroud. If Hartman is as advertised, I like our chances at home in a night game.

Didn't everyone think that the Clemson game was going to be a sea of Orange? That didn't happen last year. Maybe it won't happen again this year.

At home? It will be half OSU fans.

Maybe. The history of ND fans selling out is pretty long, lately. And the school is complicit by taking a cut of the secondary market rather than trying to control who gets tickets (e.g., anyone who sells their season tickets to a non-ND fan should have their ticket buying rights revoked).

1/2 OSU fans??? Sure some will be there but will be predominantly Irish fans especially if we come in undefeated.

Considering we gave Ohio State a game last year on the road with a brand-new QB behind an OL that had seemingly forgotten how to block and them having CJ Stroud, playing them at home with the QB situations reversed feels like a 50-50 game. I'll take those odds.

And can we stop with the bellyaching about our stadium being "taken over" by opposing fans. It looks worse than it typically is, because we don't wear loud colors, and either way it's not likely to happen here. I'm sure some Ohio State fans will come but this is not even a bucket list game for them the way it was for, say, Georgia in 2019. We've played Ohio State in bowl games several times in recent years, and they over-index on Michigan regardless.

Exactly and we have the better OL, QB, and I like our DB’s better

Those OSU guys are idiot shock jocks. They didn’t provide one bit of information as to why OSU is gonna curbstomp ND.

Our QB situation is infinitely better this year than it was last year.
Our offense as a whole should be better all around.
The secondary is gonna eat this year.

OSU’s qb situation is worse this year than last year. We’re gonna curbstomp OSU and be #1 afterwards.

It's something to consider.

That being said, I think ND has enough hype coming into this season to warrant ND fans not "selling out" for this one. Georgia in 2017 was absolutely the perfect storm, as UGA fans had never been to ND, and the Falcons were playing in Chicago and ND was coming off an abysmal 2016 year. UGA fans had all the incentive to buy, and ND fans had all the incentive to sell.

Even Cincinnati, while ND had some legitimate hype coming into the year, it simply wasn't seen as a big-time game for ND. It didn't even warrant a prime-time slot, instead going to USC and North Carolina. Cincy fans had all the incentive to hit the market hard.

ND fans have zero excuse this time. It's a big-time game, against a big-time opponent with considerable stakes in primetime.

Can we cut anything not related strictly to the game and football from the jumbotron and field? I think there should be some games entirely focused on psychological advantage. It should be loud and intense in the worst ways. No awards. No commercials. No old teams. None of it. Just pure uncut football.

Hell yes, the concession stands only sell meat and women pee standing up!!!!!! WARGARBL!!!!!!

This game is going to be great. Especially if both teams come in undefeated. ND needs to make sure of that and concentrate on what's ahead for them first. NC State is not going to be an easy game.

I'll be the first of probably many to say it: if anyone manages to get their hands on extra tickets they're looking to part with, and want to sell at or near face value to a guy who bleads blue and gold as opposed to selling them on the third market to turn a quick buck (and in turn have ND Stadium invaded by red), please PM me.

No luck in the alumni lottery, unfortunately, and I'm not looking to spend $400 for nose bleed seats.

Received an email from a Sr. Account Executive in the ND Ticket office. Evidently they intentionally held back pOSU tickets from being available in order to try to incentivize Season Ticket Sales.

I hope you are doing well. Thank you for your support of Notre Dame Football over the years. We need you in the stadium cheering on the Irish this season!

Want to attend the Ohio State game? Fortunately, we have a limited amount of season tickets that can still get you this game! This game is sold out and this is your last chance to watch the biggest game in a decade.

Yeah, that's literally what they have been doing for these big games the past few szns. It's posted clear as day on the und.com webiste.

Gotta wonder if that methodology is better or worse as far as people reselling their tickets to Buckeye fans. If they've got to buy in to season tickets, they could be more likely to recoup costs by reselling the most expensive tickets in the deal.

That's a good thought, and honestly, I don't really have a problem with it. It's probably the athletic department's way of combating the recent downturn in attendance, though I wonder if it's having adverse effects.

It's also hard to justify spending $100+ for CMU &/or TSU for crying out loud. Especially with how much at-home entertainment has improved over the past 30 years.

It's not a bad strategy: Allocate x tickets to alumni lottery, but try to hook the public with the season ticket angle.

The part that kind of bothers me is the mandatory donation, as if the price of a ticket doesn't cost enough already.

I would think that adding the hassle of 6 other games you have to sell if you’re just in it for the payday would probably deter someone with that motive. Plus the “donation” fee on top of it.

That's the thing, you don't have to sell all 6 games. You can probably resell the Ohio State tickets and recoup a lot of the lost investment. That's what a lot of people did for the Georgia game. They sold that game and kept the rest.

As a season ticket holder, this is the part that many don't understand. On top of paying $450/ticket for USC and OSU games, I have the pleasure of paying additional fees for that privilege. And then factor in the travel costs on top. If someone wants to pay $1000+/ticket for those, it's not a hard decision...and generally the buyers are visiting team fans. I plan on attending the TSU, OSU, and USC games, the others are available.

They make you request info - not even posted. Care to share the donation per seat on different sections? Between the 20s was pretty steep IIRC.

Had this same argument with my ticket rep basically begging me to buy season tickets with the sweetener that I get OSU and USC. It ended up being about $200/game; great prices for OSU and USC, and absurd for the rest of the home slate, basically told him I’ve gotten shafted by buying USC on presale the last few years, upper corner for face at about $150. Day of game the last three USC home games could have sat lower between the 40s for about 50 bucks. Sickening

I always buy tickets at kickoff or immediately after kickoff if it's a pricy game. The game is so much more enjoyable when you swindle the swindlers. Risky move unless you have balls of steel.
