I love me some Halloween. I hate the summer, I can't do the heat. For me it's just the final hurdle to the only season that matters: Spooky Szn, and the glorious fall weather that comes with it.

I've been off work the past week and getting to watch a lot of stuff on my short list. I just finished the 2023 National Geographic miniseries "A Small Light" which is about the people who hid Anne Frank and her family in Amsterdam during WWII. I learned a LOT that I didn't know about their situation, and the series was very well done. If you haven't seen it, it's definitely worth a watch.

Started the final season of Jack Ryan on Prime. Wendell Pierce is just good in whatever he's in.

He's awesome. Was great in Suits, and he crushes it in Jack Ryan. Think I'm going to wait for the full release of szn 4 to binge it.

Been getting caught up on this seasons release of Alone.

Spoiler.............One contestant lost his arrows on one of the first days. Don't know why he didn't back track to find them. Bad luck seems to follow him. Still hungry, he makes some homemade arrows and nails a squirrel, but it didn't fall out of the tree so he climbs it. Grabs the squirrel only to find out it was still alive and it bit him. lol Even though he's on a fresh water lake, he later he passes out from dehydration while hunting bear. He was passed out in the middle of nowhere for about 50 minutes. He's lucky the bear didn't find him first. He decided to tap out at that point. Probably a smart decision on his part. lol

Yeah, Olyphant's great. I rewatched The Girl Next Door (Elisha Cuthbert) this weekend just for fun. I'd completely forgotten that Olyphant plays her psycho manager in it and does a killer job.

Michael Keaton was great in this Hulu series about the same subject. He won the Emmy for lead actor in mini series. Both worth watching!

Oh I’ve heard of it but Hulu is the one streaming service I don’t have. I have watched “Crime of the Century” which is a 2-part doc on opiates. The first one is on the Sackler family and OxyContin. The 2nd one is on Fetanyl. The interviews w/ the drug reps were the most compelling as they actually pushed back against their company when they started witnessing abuse but got ignored.

I’m really digging Hijack. Interested to see where they’re going with it.

Liking Secret Invasion, but is anyone else having this issue with it? As we’ve got all these interconnected super hero universes it really breaks my immersion when stuff is going down and no one calls in any super powered backup. Spoilers for episode 4. It seems almost negligent to be moving the president without 2 or 3 supes there in the convoy. How does the secret service not have several D tier superhero’s on staff??

Just watched Jack Ryan. Season 1 was still the best season. S4, It was decent.

I’m deep into S5 of Suits and it’s getting better every episode. I don’t know how the writers keep coming up with all the twists and turns.

Started the Quarterback series on Netflix and got to Episode 6.

I'm with ya, ACamp and Irish Bloke. I love Halloween - the crisp, cool weather, the movies, the decorations, the haunted houses, the Jack-o-lanterns, the Oktoberfest beers, the football...my favorite time of the year. Our street goes all out. The past two years, we've got permits from the city to shut the street down...grilling brats and burgers, everyone in costume and the fire pits are roaring...just a great time.

I’ve never enjoyed Halloween in the Midwest. Seems to always rain and too cold to actually dress up. But my time in the SouthWest and having block parties and chili cook offs with the neighbors was awesome.
