The chapter about Kyler Murray was fascinating.

It still boggles the mind that Warren Moon lost six years playing in Canada off of his NFL stats because the consensus was he had to change positions.

Charlie Ward always comes to mind. Would easily be the 1st overall player picked today. Back then he was considered too small.

Currently I'm reading "The Greatest Story Ever Told" in honor of Holy Week.

A couple of good books I've read recently:

"The Master: The Brilliant Career of Roger Federer" - if there are any tennis fans around here, I highly recommend this one. What a fascinating human being.

"Killers of the Flower Moon" - Describes members of the Osage tribe being murdered under mysterious circumstances after they were forced onto Reservation land that happened to be oil rich; Discusses J. Edgar Hoover and the formation of the FBI. They're making a film adaptation later this year with Leonardo DiCaprio

A Perfect Spy is very good. It's one of those I read long ago and want to read again. The British mini-series adaptation of it was very good too.

Not just “they” making the adaptation but Martin Scorsese in a big time production. It’s gonna be pretty dang intriguing.

Yep it'll be a must-watch for me, can't wait. 3.5 hour run time and a dynamite cast, classic Scorcese.

I thought it would've made a pretty intruiging series, but doing a 3 hour marathon is another effective way to tell the story. It's a good book, hope people take the time to read it before the film.

I haven't been reading much fiction at all lately, so I decided a change of pace was in order. Finally picked up the Dark Tower series by Stephen King. I'm about 30 pages from finishing DT III - Waste Lands. I had heard the series was very good, but I can't put it down. I've read the first three in a month.

The Count of Monte Cristo is my favorite book of all time haha. Literally just lent the abridged version to a good buddy of mine who finished it last night and loved it. I have yet to read the unabridged version, but that's getting done by the end of the year.

I think the Dark Tower is quickly surpassing the Millennium Series as my favorite book series to date. The character arcs of Rolland, Jake, Eddie and (now) Sussanah Dean are incredible. The villains are epic. And the deeper you get into the story, the more questions you have than answers, which has been captivating. It's uncanny. Stephen King is by far my favorite fiction author and this may be my favorite work by him, which is saying something, considering I have over 25 of his novels.

I was a sci-fi fan when I was in the 12-16 range, but lost interest afterwards. Lately I've sort of rediscovered my love for some of the older stuff. I recently finished the entire Heechee saga by Pohl, and have started rereading the Foundation saga by Asimov. I'll probably reread Clarke's Rama series again after that. I think that will be the end of my sci-fi binge. Maybe I'm just being nostalgic for my youth, but I'm enjoying these old classics of the genre.

If any Catholics/faith seeking individuals need a book, I just finished up Tattoos on the Heart. Really powerful. It's a priest's real experiences with gang outreach in Los Angeles.

You ever read “Hyperion” by Dan Simmons? It’s the Canterbury Tales in Space. One of my favorites.

I’m usually more of a High Fantasy guy, but “Hyperion” is good, intensive Science Fiction.

Edmond Dantes is the greatest badass in the history of fiction literature. I’ll die on that hill.
