Let me figure out some creative way to blame the ND staff for him not coming to ND. Just give me some time and it'll come to me.
It’s too bad. We were in on him early. He goes to a great academic high school. Seemed to vibe with Carr. We did all the right things. But the bag is the bag and we don’t play that game so…

Seems like he vibes wherever he visits.

I haven’t followed him much lately, but IB mentioned that his Sophomore film was better than his Junior film, and teams backed off of him because they think he might have hit his ceiling.
Driskell straight up said he was really high on him as a sophomore, but ND got better WRs in the class when looking at all their Junior film.
I’m not 100% sure he was talking about Wingo, like 95% sure, so somebody else might correct who he was talking about.
But if it was Wingo, it seems some teams didn’t push as hard.

The one WR I wished we kept recruiting was Jeremiah McClellan. I have a bad feeling he's going to be really good in college. IMO, he'd be Irish if we had pushed and gave him the green light.

Wasn't that a bag size situation as well? Seems like he took some visits and had his eyes opened to some of those promises....
And ND stopped recruiting him.

On the topic of winning games, Wingo and McClellan were at the Stanford game. That effectively ended their recruitment.

To be fair our offense that night didn't have much for a WR to get excited about.

This Georgia 24 class is going to be scary good. It going to be so much fun when we beat them in the National Championship in 2026
Well we better start landing some of the firepower that they keep getting on OFF and definitely need tons of their DEF star power.

6'2" guy with 10.5 speed, figured something would get in the way...Prob ends up at uGA or Texas and a future Heisman candidate.

That anemic passing game + shocking loss I am sure made for a great visit for them. Very dumb of them to not have a good experience.
Yes. Using a four hour sample size to determine such a major decision is just the sort of guy this program has been looking for for the last 35 years.

I guess Manti was just cut different.

A later decision is probably good for us (unless he's just trying to max out his bag) as we're not really in the mix right now.
Can we get him back to visit for a game?

Big name recruits like this should be flocking to the OSU & USC game.

Since you are from MO is Wingo a Jordan Johnson 2.0?

Idk how good Wingo will end up being, but this is the type of recruitment where dropping a bag to close a hole in our class with elite talent makes too much sense.

I used to live there but I don’t anymore. 🤷‍♂️
What I do know is that SLU High is an excellent school academically so maybe that bodes well for us here?
