Hartman had a rib removed and wants to make it into a necklace. lol

Dr. Julie Freischlag, Hartman’s vascular surgeon and dean of the Wake Forest University School of Medicine, issued a statement in early September upon Hartman’s return to practice. According to Dr. Freischlag, the condition likely resulted from “a previous infection that eventually caused inflammation.”

The two-part procedure included removal of the blood clot, followed by rib-removal surgery to eliminate pressure on the vein. Hartman told reporters on Dec. 2 he keeps the rib in his refrigerator and hopes to make it into a necklace.

In her statement, Dr. Freischlag said a Sept. 2 follow-up ultrasound showed no issues for Hartman.

“Everything looked great,” she said. “The clot was gone, the blood flow was good and he felt great. Blood thinner therapies were discontinued once they became medically unnecessary, and he is medically cleared to return to full competition.”

I keep coming back to this over and over again. It's going to open up the run game even more.

It's going to make Spring practice so damn exciting. I mean, the WR's have to realize the opportunity that is in front of them and see this Spring at the time to make or break. I think his presence will go a long way in forcing guys to step up. Because as noted, someone will be making big plays in this offense. Who's it going to be?

Not throwing picks doesn’t make you good, it usually means you’re being handled with kid gloves at some point (see post in Rees thread too)

Honestly, I think we might see ND run some true 10 personnel this year.

I think we’re going to have a totally different opinion of our WRs next year. And I mean that in a good way. We should be a very difficult team to defend with the threat of going vertical. Our RBs and TEs are going to have a field day.

I'd love it if Deon became a monster. Feels like there's a universe where he blows up.
I think all of these guys have been left behind to some degree with QB’s that can’t get them the ball for one reason or another. I agree that it’s gonna be an exciting off season with the new additions, specifically Mr. Hartman.

Colzie probably has the most to gain of everyone with the addition of Hartman. He’s a year ahead of Merriweather mentally and physically while fitting what Hartman is used to best. Wake always seems to have big dudes

I am pretty excited to see how the offense goes.

I'm just excited that we should finally have an absolutely concrete answer to the "is Tommy a good gameday OC" question.

If he can't put up big boy numbers with this personnel, it'll be pretty much irrefutable that he's not a championship caliber playcaller. If he does put up big numbers, we'll have proof positive in a way that we've never had before.

Yep - though I’ve never doubted he is a pretty good play caller. It is other things but he certainly has recruited well over the last 6 months.
