Can you please show me where I said where bringing in Hartman wouldn't be a great look?
I mean it was in the quote.
The question was if Hartman fixes your “not a great look” point, and you said, and I quote “Of course not”

If you really think that’s not what you wrote, then all of the other context clues disagree with you too

His question: "if we somehow land Sam Hartman for '23 will it be not a "great look"
My Answer: "Of course not."
I've said before he's a take, so how would bringing in someone who I think is a take be a bad thing?

Ok, man. Let’s chalk this up to three negatives between the question and the answer.

If you do think Reed landing Hartman is a mark in his favor, it’s sure hard to tell by reading everything you wrote

I'll absolutely give him credit for landing Hartman. This isn't directed at you, but as a side note, it's funny how I get painted as always hating on Tommy. When the team was 0-2 and the posters were pretty much unanimous in wanting his head (among others) on a silver platter, I was one of the few people who felt he would call a decent game against CAL. I've also said it would be good if he got Hudson Card (who is personally my top choice). As of a few days ago, when people were freaking out about us not getting anyone and blaming Rees, I said it was too early and that we don't know yet who else will enter the portal.

I’ve seen coordinators take as much or more heat for their side’s poor performance (BVG for sure) but I’ve never seen as many loyal voices defend someone as Rees got this year. I get why. It’s almost political with Rees where each side won’t give an inch. It kept things interesting watching some blame everything on him while others blamed everything but him when the offense was poor.
Exactly. Rees doesn’t get anything like the bashing O’Brien gets from Alabama fans.
The new thing in the Rees matter is the weird cult like following Rees has.

O'Brian hasn't been getting death threats from the fans since he was 19. Hard to compare apples to apples between the two.

Big Brain calling a slant on 1st and goal with a guy who can’t protect the football against a gassed defense that can’t stop the run. What a joke.

What a failure play call, pass and terrible management by the head coach. He has to kill that play.

Frustrating. We were about to pull a Clemson on them and just pound them into submission.

Outside of that play call, and yes, it was absolutely atrocious, I thought he called a solid game.

He did. There was some big time play calling in that game. A few head scratchers, but easy to see what he's capable of with a halfway serviceable QB.

He had some great calls (he really did...the game-winning TD call), but that one call was legitimately one of the worst calls I have ever seen. I know it can be a catch 22 though. He and Buchner are such a frustrating pairing. They both have these moments of pure brilliance and pure madness. Rees has shown that he can adjustment based on who is under center, but tonight the "Rees haters" have a calling card that no one can deny.

Both Rees and Buchner showed that they'll battle.

Tommy Rees: GAME BALL.
Never saw an OC so brilliantly wading through chaos as successfully.
(He can't prevent Buchner from making bad choices when he has to see the good one himself.)

Finding multiple ways to get outside the eight-in-the-box crash defense was genius.
Please Mr. Hartman come be our QB and teach Tyler how to get his act together to go with the undeniable raw talent.
Coach Tommy will probably have several seizures if you don't.

To IE: apologize for my counterculturism.

My problem with Rees is that he has stretches of brilliance and then will go away from the "bread and butter" that's working. Or make an absurd call that kills a drive. It often happens when we are gashing teams on the ground and he seemingly goes "ok well NOW is the time to hit them with the pass when they won't be expecting it!" Sometimes it works like the pop pass to Mayer against Clemson or the throwback to Mitchell tonight. Other times, it causes absolute calamity when there didn't need to be any.

Mid-4th quarter up a touchdown with a turnover prone QB on 1st and goal when the opponent is gassed and getting bowled over by the OL... how on earth do you put the ball in the air there? And if you are going to put it in the air, how do you call something as risky as a slant? Just total lunacy. He has got to mature out of his bad habits or he needs to get himself a QB that isn't going to make critical errors. Until then... know your personnel, know your situation. It's like he sometimes forgets he's driving a Jeep instead of a Porsche and acts surprised when he rolls the thing taking a corner too fast.

I don't agree with the play call, especially after they were hands-on-hips gassed and couldn't stop the run, but the play was messed up from the get-go and someone needed to call time out and shut it down.
