Show me those companies/industries/WF Alumnus out of Winston-Salem that will continue to pay a ND player NIL deals?? Surely lawyers and colleges have clauses that if a player transfers/leaves/quits/drops out, etc... will lose their NIL deal(s).
According to this, he has sponsorship deals with Wahl (that fabulous beard doesn't groom itself, Phil), Bojangles and Mizzen + Main (a "performance menswear" brand, if you're not familiar).

Those aren't rich Wake Forest alums, those are legit companies who'd just as gladly pay a Notre Dame QB as a Wake Forest QB. Stands to reason they'd pay more, since more people would know the Notre Dame QB. Is the hope, anyway.

I can see it now. Buchner is gonna tear up a bad South Carolina defense and they’ll use that as an excuse to not take a transfer QB for next year. “We fill confident in Tyler leading this team to a championship”

I’ll do one better:

An underwhelming TB will struggle in a loss, and they will use him being “healthy” as the sole excuse to not take a transfer QB.

They're going to get a good QB. Patience.

The only way some of you guys would be happy is if they got a transfer the same day they announced they were taking one. The age of instant gratification is upon us.
You're completely missing the point. This has zero to do with lack of instant gratification and everything to do with ND flapping around in the winds of current day "NIL". Over the course of the last ~6 months, we've taken multiple "NIL" Ls. Meanwhile the staff is still out there trying to sell 4 for 40 because the admin refuses to budge and give them ANY leverage whatsoever with regards the current NIL landscape. Make no mistake - this is not a Veruca Salt situation.

I mean, any ND fan who has at minimum cursory knowledge of our admin would see this is coming. ND will always fight with one arm tied behind our back. I would be shocked if Hartman comes here (especially if NIL matters), we don't like nice things.

In general I agree with the bold, but you have to understand that the window is small for many of these guys. The list of potential game-changing QB’s available is already dwindling. It’s not so much that I want to hear Sam Hartman has committed to ND right away, it’s just that the longer we go not hearing that the lower the likelihood that he actually ends up here.

What will happen is that at some point Freeman will get fed up and move on if they continue to not give him program support (re: NIL)… or he’ll get fire for failing to win… but either way ND will be in the market for a new coach and it won’t go well. They will not have a lot of good choices, it’ll be a redux to the Willingham era of things.

With that being said, I don’t see boosters right now chomping at the bit to pay NIL to players but ND saying “no you can’t.” There are a lot of ND boosters who are simply not inclined to pay supposed “students” six figure salaries or seven figure lump sum payments just to play for “their” school. ND has never done the bag man thing. If any boosters wanted to do a rogue collective bad enough, they could.

Best path for ND right now is probably that revenue sharing gets normalized which will drastically lessen the impact of “boosters” on the entire process.

Regarding revenue sharing is that something that the Courts have to weigh on? Or is it something ND could possibly pioneer with there next TV contract? And regarding the TV contract does anyone know the latest on that? I have been reading lately with streaming and everything the only guarantee for these TV deals is sports and that is why the money is insane. Hopefully ND can leverage but I am sure we will not.......

Do we really think that the coaches are still only preaching the 4 for 40 sermon or have they changed their talking points.

I would assume that the coaches are trying to talk NIL to the recruits/transfers. They are most likely showing them real numbers of what players at ND have been able to earn (especially K Hamilton and M Mayer) under NIL. Do you think the comment from the interview with Braden Lenzy wasn't pre-planned ("NIL is nice")?

I am sure the coaches have made adjustments in their approach.

Has Sam Hartman hit the portal yet?

I’m not sure I understand, is ND not paying players? The tone here is everyone is getting six plus figures except at ND. Our players are getting paid, fairly well, yes?

The coaches do reportedly present the NIL benefits. Here is the problem. The letter of the law says the NIL deals need to be "fair market value." ND abides by that. Guys like Hamilton clean up on that. But he had to work for it - appearances, podcasts, ads, etc.

Other schools are reportedly doing things like "hey show up in the team hotel lobby the Friday before every game and take a picture, you get $50k each time." In addition they are structuring the up front payments in ways that make them seem borderline legal, like purchasing of NIL licensing rights. It is too close to pay for play for ND to do that, so it less than a guarantee.

One of the pods - I don't remember which one - was talking about how Michael Mayer has made a lot of money through NIL this year but just doesn't talk about it.

Lenzy and Tyree are on the Under Armor website.

On3 does a NIL valuation. I have no idea how accurate it is, but it shows both MM and Foskey at over $800K. They have Alt at over $500K - for an O-Lineman?? Imagine what a stud QB at ND could do?

I get all that. It's just the ND pessimism kicks in and we go from:

Peyton Bowen is getting $2,000,000.00 from Oregon!!

To:

ND doesn't play the NIL game.

The truth is in the middle...

Yeah from everything I have read and heard, ND's NIL is very competitive for players on the roster. That is definitely not the issue.

I just said “take him”, not that he would come. Your spaz out was due to something else.
"I’d totally take him in addition to whoever else is brought in for immediate useage."

Where is the logic in that, like why would Allen come to ND.
