He strikes me as a monster guy. Not one of the good flavors, the green, original shit
That shit will kill you, literally.

A few years back, otherwise healthy dudes were showing up to emergency rooms and being diagnosed with acute hepatitis.
The culprit was them slamming 4-5 green monsters a morning at work.
They finally figured it out when multiple construction workers who were drinking them on the job had acute kidney disease & hepatitis all at the same time.

Right, so there is direct financial incentive to drum up drama here. Saying "he's going to Oklahoma" and taking the suspense out of it would literally cost them money.

Look, I hope he comes to ND as much as anyone. I just think it's convenient how we've gone from "Marcus Freeman isn't even going to visit" to "oooooo looks like it might be ND for Bowen!!! stay glued to your computer to follow all the twists and turns!!"

And to be clear, this is 0% a slight on Loy. He is a true professional and very good at his job. I'm just saying the industry as a whole has financial incentive for things to be as suspenseful and dramatic as possible.
Industry as a a whole does have incentive to do this. But there are true NSD surprises every year. Travis Hunter last year obviously a big one. Reuben Foster got an Auburn tattoo and committed to Bama. We haven’t been involved in many since Te’o (Wagner last year would count if he committed on NSD), but I don’t think it’s farfetched to think Bowen is legitimately going back and forth.

Freeman was also hired to elevate the talent. That means going after guys talented enough that they can have their recruitment play out like this. BK would’ve moved on by now.

As Charlie Munger says, show me the incentive and I'll show you the outcome.

Freeman on ISD doing a live Q&A over there. I don’t want to post premium especially since they’re not one of the national sites. But it’s the most positive I’ve seen on ISD these past few days. And as far as I can tell they don’t seem to blow smoke to drum up clicks.

Well we agree 99.9% hahahahaa

I don't think the good journos on the beat believe they have a financial incentive to lead people on with no good info. I think that's counterintuitive and a couple of them don't want to kill the only thing that makes them money, which is their respectability in the work they do.

we agree in the larger sense though

Go Irish!

Couple other nuggets from the NSD Eve Tom Loy tell-all:
- Loy thinks Keeley stays with ND if NIL isnt a thing. Elston leaving was a bigger issue than let on
- Hanafin got cold feet due to the number of quality WRs we were taking and went radio silent on the staff after telling Stuckey he was coming

He's gonna stick, I can feel it. He had every opportunity to bail, and he hasn't. Kid is ready to be great!

I haven’t talked to PB tonight, so no update.

I’m feeling Oklahoma or ND at this point. No info, just my gut, but Oregon is out.

Also think his girlfriend may have a role, but it may come down to other factors.

Bank it.

Freeman has promised him starting minutes at both safety positions, no transfer QB—the position is his, and they will stop recruiting Bowen because he is their top of the board guy.

I posted the other day that I don't too invested in recruiting. Well here I am checking again. I guess a more apt description is that I accept disappointment, but still have to know.
That's the way to be! Ride that pessimism wave so when good news comes you can embrace it rather than the flip scenario.
