Been out of the loop. I know he's been visiting places, but beat writers were throwing a lot of hints about Card being the guy. What changed?

TCU needs a QB now....that's what changed.
Yep, as R2G said, Max Duggan declared for the NFL draft after the CFP, so proximity to home and seemingly wide open depth chart seems to make a lot of sense for Hudson Card.

TCU board isn’t even talking about Card lol

A quick peruse says they may not get a transfer QB at all, if they were to flip Novosad especially. And Nussmeier is the main possible transfer name.

We're talking about Card...doesn't increase the likelihood that he comes here? Duggan just announced on Sunday and they have a playoff to prepare for

Only reported intel I could find was the Oregons. Oregon and Oregon St. With Nix back, that means Oregon St with a visit under their belt is the most credible guess.

Baylor, TCU, Illinois, ND others have been guessed. Either playing it close to the vest or he’s got some time before deciding.

Illinois reportedly getting a visit. OC was at UTSA.

If he’s visiting places like Illinois and Oregon St, they best I would personally classify Card as right now is open. Now what is ND thinking or trying? Beat seems borderline sworn to secrecy on the matter.

That strikes me as an odd fit. Kentucky just had a highly regarded pro prospect under center and he put up some rather pedestrian numbers in their offense. They threw for fewer than 200 yards per game and only had about 200 more total passing yards than ND.
Levis, but he had a lot going against him. Lost his OC to the NFL, and his replacement was let go. Turnover on the offensive line after the 2021 season and he lost his top receiver Robinson. Continuity is the key.

I could see Nussmeier hitting the portal. I also believe either Milroe will hit the portal this spring as he is probably getting passed up by Simpson. I originally said Altmyer but forgot he is already in the portal.

TCU I could see, but the only way we lose Card to Illinois or Oregon State is if he’s looking for an ironclad guarantee he’s QB1, which we shouldn’t give someone who’s never been a full-time starter.

Some random poster posted a rumor that Card met with Rees and Rees gave him an ultimatum to commit or not and Card said no so that’s why he’s not coming here.

The only interesting part of that is Loy highlighted most of it and said that isn’t accurate. But he didn’t say meeting with Card in and of itself was inaccurate, or that he could be headed to Oregon St was inaccurate.

Not groundbreaking but just some credence to the Rees whereabouts.

Tell Reese no to go to Oregon State not impossible but not likely without some context

There are so many people that carry around an axe just hoping to grind it on Tommy's ass that I just disregard 90% of "reports" or "insider info". Anything they can do to make it sound like Tommy is bumbling his responsibilities makes these strange people happy.

I'm just gonna let this all play out and see where we're at come spring time.

No, I refuse to accept that as a possibility. Not even kidding. They are going to land a stud QB transfer. And, his name is Michael Pratt.

I'm going to will this into existence.
I really like what I saw of him this past year. He seems to always make the right decision. He used 20 different receivers this year, which I believe led the nation.

He gave Spencer Rattler and OU all they could handle in 2021.

At least the poster could’ve made up a better story. People getting lazy.
