Just saw the line is ND -2.5. If you assume the oddsmakers set the original line knowing Mayer and Foskey likely were not playing all along, it was more like ND -4.5 - 5.5 before, so we’re assigning 3 pts to the spread for Pyne. I’m not too sure Pyne is worth 3 pts to the spread….

I don't think it really had anything to do with Pyne. The money is overwhelmingly on SC (86%) so they were trying to even the betting out a bit.

I don't buy into Vegas wanting even money on both sides all the time. I also don't buy into the opposite side which is Vegas sets sucker lines. I think Vegas sets lines to get maximum bets on the game. But lines definitely move when tons of money (not bets) come in early on one side because Vegas doesn't want to take a bath on any one game.

Idk I didn’t watch the Clemson game but don’t really take much from the Tennessee game. It should be more likely they score less than 10 pts than Rattler has some big day IMO.

No way Clemson should’ve lost that game. Rattler played well but he threw two picks. Problem is that Clemson had costlier TOs. Even w/ DJ U under center, they had no business losing that game.

Idk about "By a long shot" this is the same QB that got benched at OU and put up pretty pathetic numbers until mid-November.

ND has a month to prepare for him and two games don't make a season. I'm really shaking in my boots looking at these numbers....




They also have a horrible run defense. Ranked 112th out of 131 teams.

Right but he’s been playing all season in 2023. Granted he struggled out of the gate but finished strong and seemingly put it all together the last two games. Contrast that w/ what Buchner has done & add the fact that he hasn’t seen action in months, I’d say it’s “a long shot” but that’s my opinion. It’s more about what ND does NOT have vs what Rattler can be. Buchner has a lot on his shoulders now figuratively & literally. I hope he can manage it by staying w/in himself and relying on his OL & running backs & trust Rees to put him in a position to succeed when he does call a pass.

All things he could absolutely not rely on the first couple games…all things that got him injured…the dismissal of TB12 is beyond

rattler, buchner showed me nothing in the 1st two games.

Marshall and OSU finished 8th and 15th in SP+ defense.

This will be a legitimately bad South Carolina defense we see. If he’s healthy I’m not worried Buchner performs at least okay. They will likely try to have him air it out more than they even should in the 1Q before just accepting they can run the ball at will.

As long as Freeman has the lines of scrimmage on both sides ready to play, blowout potential.

If you had to put money on which team has the strongest components at all 22 positions, which would you choose? That is the real question right now. Either QB could play out of their minds and tip the scales but given the sample sizes, it's unlikely.

I saw Rattler play lights out and with significant confidence against Tenn-it gives me pause. I also saw NDs 3 man defensive front, which is horrible.
