Early BK recruiting madness was usually caused by ND getting in its own way. Easier to shrug that off with the thought that he’d figure things out with each subsequent class.
Having our top three recruits blatantly bought out from under us is different.

Looked like a long haired dachshund at quick glanceWhat kind of dog was that? It looked like a circus monkey.
And this is precisely why a lot of us are simply numb now with regards to recruiting.Early BK recruiting madness was usually caused by ND getting in its own way. Easier to shrug that off with the thought that he’d figure things out with each subsequent class.

I’ve been following NDFB recruiting closely for 20 years, and posting here for the last 13. The things that set me off the most are impiety and inconsideration, which is why I frequently tie into posters who: (1) unjustly shit on ND; or (2) inflict their mindless negativity on IE. I’m not a natural pessimist, and that’s not what I’m doing here.If you see every single piece of recruiting news moving forward through the downtrodden lense of he’ll probably decommit, then I wouldn’t follow. It’s not a jab or insult, just wouldn’t be worthwhile or healthy.
This is my perspective, too. Now, I feel like we have to hold onto McCollough and fight the NIL war for the next year to hold onto this guy. Awesome pickup, but some of the fun of recruiting is just gone.I’ve been following NDFB recruiting closely for 20 years, and posting here for the last 13. But knowing that the top 10-15% of our class can get bought out from under us, even at the last minute, changes things. In years past, I would have rejoiced over Aneyas’ commitment. Now I feel like I can’t afford to get emotionally invested in it.
Write it off as an old man post if you want. Just struck me as notable that something that once brought me joy RE NDFB no longer does. Curses upon Emmert and the NCAA.

That’s fair. If Aneyas doesn’t start visiting other schools in the next few months, I guess we can get excited. Wish we didn’t have to default to this guarded wait-and-see mindset with elite recruits now though.Keon Keeley started visiting places months after committing. Peyton Bowen did less than two weeks later. Dante Moore never was committed to ND.
There’s two ways to see it. These guys were looking elsewhere before they were offered a penny.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for getting mad/pissed about not going our way, but I recommend not following if you no longer see any positives.
I was forged by Lorenzo Booker’s signing day fiasco in 2002. I been hurt by Notre Dame recruiting. This thread is so depressing. Who hurt some of you? (Other than Keeley, Bowen, Moore, Limar, and Edwards)

Every year it seems there’s a few that break your heart as a fan. I’ve decided to just have fun at this point until signing day. Im really struggling with this NIL thing and through what mediums the promises are being made. It’s the Wild West out there.I was forged by Lorenzo Booker’s signing day fiasco in 2002. Until a kid with his pedigree and offer list signs his NLI, he’s not coming to Notre Dame. And even that might not end the recruitment.
NIL’s a different world and Notre Dame won’t live in it. These kinds of elite commitments aren’t worth getting excited over. He’s going somewhere else when it’s all done.

Randy Moss
Moss was never coming here. His grades weren’t close to being good enough and IIRC wasn’t there something in his background that made him a no?Randy Moss
Plead guilty to two counts of battery before going to college. ND said no thanks.Moss was never coming here. His grades weren’t close to being good enough and IIRC wasn’t there something in his background that made him a no?
He was a take until he got into a big fight at school and ended up getting charges pressed against him.Moss was never coming here. His grades weren’t close to being good enough and IIRC wasn’t there something in his background that made him a no?
Let’s clarify this a little more. He got in a fight because he was being called a N-word by the guy who’s ass he beat. Moss dealt with mad racism at his high school and finally couldn’t ignore it anymore. Moss was all Irish and would have been here if not for that incident. He was a take until he got into a big fight at school and ended up getting charges pressed against him.
Then Holtz passed him off to Bobby Bowden, but something else happened that even FSU couldn't over look.
I never said he wasn’t justified, I just stated what happened.Let’s clarify this a little more. He got in a fight because he was being called a N-word by the guy who’s ass he beat.
