Kind of off topic, but I’m thinking USC and UCLA are going to have a lot problems playing away games in November when they go to the B1G.

One of the podcast guys brought this up. Can’t remember who.

I’ve heard this a few times and I agree. Can’t wait to see them at Wisconsin, Minnesota, or Iowa in November.

Yeah. Not just the weather, which will be a big factor in my opinion but the time change as well.

Potentially playing at 9:00 am eastern or central time kickoff after flying in from the west coast could be a problem.

Definitely true in some regard, but on the flip side I think Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin etc will have a tough time finding out 13 points won’t win the game always

ND has to have a lot of things happen for them to win IMO.
They’ll need a ST play…i.e., blocked punt
They’ll need a pick six or multiple TOs
They’ll need to establish the run to to the level of the Clemson game or better and play keep away.
They’ll need to have a timely passing game that puts Pyne in a position to succeed.

i just think that SC’s offense is too potent w/ playmakers behind playmakers. Caleb Williams is too elite to go into a huge primetime game w/ the Heisman & CFP on the line to lay an egg. He’s a dude & dudes usually rise to the occasion.

The thing that makes me the most nervous for Saturday is people actually giving us credit and thinking we have a solid chance to win.

I’d feel a hell of a lot better if we were straight dogs against this juggernaut USC squad, on par with the best teams of the Peter Carroll era.

We should have no problem running all over their ass their defense sucks. They don’t have their A running back so they’ll most likely try and throw against us. Gonna need a big game from secondary. Put Morrison on Jordan Addison. Williams has a tendency to make some dumb throws just need to get one turnover

I really don’t think so. To me, Carroll always had a very good secondary and LBs. But that’s just my opinion. I don’t watch film or anything like that. There are a lot more knowledge people on this board. I’m just a die hard ND fan.

I forgot to add, also on Juice! I can’t remember the name of the one USC LB that went from an average looking person to Arnold Schwarzenegger in an off season.

We'll see. The next time Caleb Williams rises to the occasion against a legitimate defense will be the first time.

I’m trying to think,… has the major realignment worked well for any program that has made the shift??? Going back to the Colorado move to the pac to today,… I can’t think of one team that has clearly adjusted to being better on the field after the move,…

I don't think there is one.

Oregon State is similar statistically to ND. They have a good passing defense, but their ability to sack the QB is awful.

Utah can get after the QB pretty well, but their pass defense beyond that is bad and they don't defend the run well either.

The rest of the defenses are, for the most part, some of the worst in CFB.

If I were to pick, I'd say Clemson, but I think it'd be a toss-up. Clemson's front 7 is very good, but their pass defense is suspect. That being said, CW hasn't shown us that he can play well against a good defense so far. The two games against strong defenses, Oregon State and Wazzu, he struggled immensely. Clemson is better than both those teams. But you never know with a talent like that. And if he does play well, can Clemson do enough on offense with DJ, who has struggled regardless of defense.

TCU has been up and down.

They started their Big XII tenure terribly, but then went on a run with 3 11+ win seasons in 4 years in '14, '15 and '17. But things had soured under Patterson and they had a run of 4 straight bad seasons. But obviously, they're in the playoff hunt this year and are 11-0.

And I doubt they play them both in the same season, or even once depending on which side of the conference they are on. I would imagine they would probably throw both USC and UCLA on the Wisconsin and Purdue side to even things up. Which means they may not even play Ohio State or Michigan, or even both in the same season Depending on the scheduling for that year
