Schnitzel served with anything besides spätzle or a potato salad is torturous to the wonders of tradition. Gruyere mac and cheese? Cmon guys. You are mixing three seperate cultures on a dish that doesn't need to exist. Why must we fuck with the simplicity of food?

- Skyline is good
- LaRosa’s STINKS
- Gold Star burgers are weirdly amazing

Listen... their sauce leaves a lot to be desired. But their provolone, particularly over their bread sticks, is ELITE.

I'm glad someone of culture also has tried/recognizes the Gold Star burger.

Don’t knock it til you try it. It’s absurd how good this dish is. Definitely getting it Saturday

Fusion cuisine has revolutionized much of the 21st century. And for the most part, you will find more successes than failures if you know what you are doing. Best advice I received from one of my head chefs and instructors while studying and apprenticing was to look for oppourtunities in fusion restaurants. It comes with a larger challenge because the combinations of flavour and techniques within two cultures can be a steep learning curve, but the reward is that you walk away with more skills and knowledge in half the time.

Also, for all you dudes that really love food.... look for fusion restaurants that incorporate weekly menus that alternate for seasonal produce, especially if the restaurant is reputable.

I've known some Italian (Sicilians) and their marinara was atrocious compared to my pasty white ass's attempt. Good meatballs though.
Marinara is trash. Give me a Sunday sauce with braciole, sausage, and meatballs any day brother! I can’t even comprehend how to screw up a basic marinara.

1. Asian (pad thai is king; Americanized chicken dishes; sushi if it's fried and has cream cheese in it)
2. Mexican (literally anything)
3. Italian (mostly anything)
4. Mediterranean (gyros, SKYLINE CHILI, and baklava all day)
Take out Skyline

My dad makes a yearly bier odyssey to Germany, and runs a german bier hall with the largest bar run Oktoberfest in town, I love the German classics, big fan of the vinegar potato salad

I’m a sucker for a Jägerschnitzel mit Kartoffelnsalat ohne Mayo. Wash it down with a Dunkelweiß every time.

Great to hear you can have those experiences my guy.

Italian food is overrated, I’m with acamp on this.

Since we are still on food and Tis the season what’s everyone’s take on thanksgiving food? Southern corn casserole hits hard, turkey not so much

Yeah. Traditional thanksgiving food is eh. I like doing more Southern style or bbq versions of stuff rather than just turkey corn potatoes and stuffing

Smoked turkey is good enough. This year though I’m hoping to go smoked rib roast and Thai smoked game hens, with mustard greens, stuffing, cornbread, my wife’s garlic mashed potatoes, homemade pumpkin and apple pies and some lumpia because lumpia is never wrong.

Of course I’ve bought almost none of the needed ingredients for any of this yet so,… I’m living a bit dangerously. We have frozen lumpia left over from our last lumpia making venture,… so at least there’s that.
