Bad day for the Rees haters. 41 points against the #6 scoring D in the nation. I will take it.

No bad days for me—I love watching ND run over teams worse and less talented than them, regardless of who is in the booth.

It’s frustratingly affirming that this team could be successful but for a quarterback, which is his responsibility and has been for quite some time. I have nothing against TR personally and if he didn’t suck so badly at this critical role, and managing the roster in general (see WR room, and noting we’re 2 plays away from seeing RP3 starting) I wouldn’t be calling for him to leave.

Beating up on a small DL doesn’t change this backdrop—as evidenced by Drew Pyne’s body of work.

Tommy called a better game and *mostly* resisted the urge to get cute. But buddy, the QB play and passing game are very much at his feet.

I have no idea what to expect next week. He’s going to have to get use that big brain of his in the passing game, and I don’t trust the QB to put it on anyone or the WRs to catch it if he does.

They can play this way every other game, though - including USC. They don’t have the dudes on the line to hold up.

Honestly I’d take 8-4 today if you gave me the chance. We’re far from out of the woods, and if the D blinks against Navy on a couple big plays we could easily be feeling some pressure in that one.

Genuinely think that one of Drew's issues is that his feet get stagnant in the pocket. Even if not moving, your feet should stay active. He throws better while keeping his feet active.
He had some pretty abysmal roll outs last game too, underthrew JT twice on third downs

That's the one game I'm worried about. Irish seem to play up or down to the talent they are playing against so far this year.

If he was fired would we see it happen in December or January?
I don't think he gets fired. I think he might move on to another job though. It's a shame, because a lot probably gets fixed next year I think once these recruiting classes get rolling. Some of that will depend on whether they get the QB position stable of course, either via a commit or a transfer. The next guy is going to be setup well, especially once Carr arrives. Tons of young talent on this team, and we're returning a lot of experienced upperclassmen for next year instead of Sophomores and Freshmen.

I think a lot got “fixed” this year (after the 2nd game). The OL has played very well, running backs have been good, best TE in football, and the WRs are better than people give them credit for. With good QB play this offense would be rolling.

Offensive recruiting is looking up. It won’t matter who the OC is next year if the QB position isn’t fixed. It needs to be before Carr is ready because that’s at least 3 seasons away.

You're going to find out a lot this fucking weekend my friend.

I think Rees has been too conservative on Offense. The offense is boring and lackluster.

I think the fact that he got played by Dante Moore and didn't have stronger leverage in the QB 2023 Class Search and the fact he didn't think we needed a QB transfer this season are reasons he should be let go.

I think Freeman would do better selecting his own OC in the future Daddy Swarbrick.

Sorry I wasn’t saying he should be fired I meant that if he was or left for another job would it be in December or Jan. Because if it would be better in December, a splashy new hire could result in a possible commit say (Qb)

I would think it would be January after the NFL regular season wraps up. I don't think college jobs, even lower level head coaching jobs, are what he is after.
