I'd prefer Peacock over cable.
Interesting, I have yet to cut the cord solely because of live sports. I've had too many issues with lags and interruptions in general from streaming cable services to ever want to go that route and heard nothing but horrible reviews on the ND game against Toledo. I went to the game in person solely to avoid watching on Peacock.

oh gawd, good but horrible point.
It’s so bad. I hope it doesn’t happen, but I would also assume an expected influx in viewership would cause them to make some much needed improvements to their product quality.

I cut the cord and went to Youtubetv. Haven't missed a ND game yet to my knowledge.

You would have missed Toledo without Peacock. (Not that you missed much except an afternoon of frustration.)
I signed up for it, but there was a free week trial. I think it was half off for the ND season (I used it for EPL).

Kept it for EPL has enough other stuff that is watchable plus extended office episodes makes it worth it for my wife to pay for it.

Latest numbers floating around on the internet say the B1G media rights deal could reach $1.5 billion per year. This is just the media rights, not counting CFP revenue, NCAA basketball tournament revenue or any other revenue.

I wonder how much that would increase with Notre Dame as a member?

That's an insane number.

That turned out to be a blessing b/c most non-ND fans didn’t get to see that embarrassment b/c you know we would still be hearing about it…LOL. Not saying they didn’t take their shots (rightfully so) when it happened but not being nationally televised help minimize the sting.

So in mentions that mean something or nothing he slightly talked up 1 of his 3 points for the B1G (tv deal) and talked down 1 of his 3 points for the ACC (Olympic sports)

He didn't mention anything about potentially losing our 1-2 primetime slots on NBC? I think it's safe to assume that the B1G and NBC would work together to ensure USC was primetime in South Bend but that's only one every two years. If they got Stanford eventually, that guarantees one primetime NBC slot with the B1G, but that's hypothetical.

If I'm ND, I'm not giving up my 2 prime time slots. Those get the most viewers.

My extremely hot take is that I think Peacock is a fine streaming service.

My antenna reception can be spotty, so I used it for a few ND games last year, and had zero issues with buffering or picture quality. I've been watching EPL matches with no issue, and the catalog of content is surprisingly decent.

The interface for the home screen could be more responsive, especially for their bullet-point/highlighted content, but otherwise it's been fine.

Would NBC *have* to show a B1G game in that nighttime slot? Or could they show ours instead? I would think our biggest games would be bigger draws than most B1G games, especially ones not involving Ohio State.
And of course any game we’d play against a B1G opponent could probably be maneuvered into that slot.
This is all negotiable.

What issues have you had with it?

I hear plenty of people saying it's bad, but haven't seen specific complaints.

Navigating the catalog isn't as friendly as other services, but that's small potatoes based on my primary use for the app.

Not surprising given that money is the objective. Wonder how much the travel budget would be reduced playing in the B1G instead of the ACC? Better for the students.

That is a good question. All I've heard is that CBS would get the 3:30 slot and NBC would get the 7:30/prime time slot with whatever TV deal they end up working out. That reads to me like B1G would HAVE to get the late slot so as not to compete with their partner in the contract, unless the deal would be flexible to flex ND game to primetime, but even then, CBS would either be competing with B1G's 3:30 slot or ND in primetime. That's a lose-lose for CBS.

The game they aired on it froze up for like 15 minutes

I watch a lot of stuff on Peacock, most recently Yellowstone and Park and Rec. I agree the format is kind of subpar but I've never had issues with Peacock. Netflix is the one that gives me the most issues with playback errors and whatnot.

I have streamed the US Open and British Open on Peacock and it worked out pretty well. But, I still don't think I'll be cutting the cord. I just watch too many sports and I prefer to be "live" and it's more reliable.
