Uh we haven't even finished or signed the first class yet. "Top recruiting class are the norm for this staff..." Are you living in 2025 or something. Pump the breaks and stay in the moment. Don't borrow from the future just yet
So. Marcus Freeman gets credit for last years class #6. Currently have the number #1 class. 2024 is early but they have 4 commits in the top 100 players and the current #1.
Ugh... are you just tuning in on ND recruiting for the first time? Or just a troll?

Freeman has been coach for 7 months and has yet to sign a class. Your statement was too Homerish and weird.

Auburn guy on 247 made a good point. With Jaiden’s brother being at Auburn, he could be on their campus multiple times this Fall. Hopefully that team is so inept/bad that the time on campus won’t matter.

Homerish to cite the rankings of last year, this year, and for 2024? okay. Welcome to following ND Recruiting. If you can't get excited by the early returns on what Freeman has done since he was a hired on at D coordinator and now Head coach I don't know what to tell ya. ND hasn't shown this ceiling in like 25 years. Keep on your brakes Troll

No its not homerish to cite rankings. Its homerish to say that: "Top recruiting class are the norm for this staff..." (I think I was pretty clear about that). That statement would be legitimate in December 2023 after he signs 2023 and 2024 classes - his first two classes. I am happy Freeman is doing well in getting verbals out of really good recruits. It's just his first class and nothing is final until they sign. To say its a "Norm" is quite frankly silly so early in the process. Not a big deal - enjoy the happiness my friend.

I just like certainty before making far flung statements. No classes have been signed just rankings based on verbals. What's next? We beat OSU and National Titles are the Norm for the staff? LOL

Guy, I’m like one of the most pump your brakes on the site when it comes to recruiting. I fully realize that once all teams classes are signed ND will end up around 4-6 this year and with the class signed last year it’s not a stretch to say that MFs effort in recruiting is clearly a level above TFG and his staff. It’s clearly a level above getting top tier recruits interested in ND and been effective in two straight classes at stocking top 100 talent.

TFG apparently couldn’t be bothered to pursue the kinds of guys previously. So I think it’s not homerism to be excited about what we are seeing relative to where we were consistently with TFG.

Can our on the field production continue and enhance this trend? TBD.

I certainly hope it doesn’t finish 6 and tie last years class. We need that not to happen. While we have more points than last year, we need to beat the teams in front of us, points schmoints.

Hey I am excited too but a lot can happen before signing day and the point is how can it be a NORM when Freeman has yet to sign a class. I get his enthusiasm but lets have this play out before stating this is a "Norm" - LOL

Well all the excitement is warranted as MF has clearly stepped up the level of recruiting in all facets but keeping the class together and the unknown on the field as of this point is a concern for me. I’d say heading into the season we are looking at a 4 or 5 class once everyone’s classes are filled this year. Mathematically I can’t see it being better than 4. Then if the class can stay together till they arrive on campus is another thing altogether.

Ausberry dropped in 247’s new rankings. Just in time for him to commit to Notre Dame.

A few ND commits dropped in the ranks. Starting to see how political the rankings are.
I get it, but it won’t mean dick if we get who we need. Ausberry, Hanafin, a 4 star QB, Love, and Mpemba. Then hold on to P Bowen. That’s a crazy good class.

I see OSU, Bama and UGA will be better classes.... perhaps not UGA if we land all the studs you list du Lac. 3 or 4th best class. Not bad.

I ultimately don’t care if we are 1-4. But we need top tier classes and our BCR to be above 75. If we can get a roster full of top 100 4 stars sprinkles with some 5 stars there won’t w be huge drop off in talent that we have seen in years past.

Agree with this. And outside QB, this team could legit put out a starting lineup on the field and have success

NIL is actually helping ND in the rankings because kids that would normally all end up at 3-4 teams are being spread out among teams all over the country.
So there probably won’t be 5 teams all above 310 in points.

Consider none of these schools require reading comprehension from their "student athletes", Im ecstatic about what MF has pulled together!

Yup - Brenan Vernon and Drayk Bowen were both composite five stars when they committed to ND. 247 responded immediately after their respective commitments with torpedoing their rankings. They've done this type of thing for years.

It happens to other programs too. Its less about the program and more about pushing up uncommitted kids for clicks. Its about money for the rating services - as always.

There maybe some SEC bias, too. I think ND should look at the SEC and not the Big Ten. SEC is where the recruits are. We already are legends in the midwest.....

I would also hope that it is also about integrity and honor. College is first and foremost about education, then sports.
The SEC has that inverted.
