FWIW other TOP recruits say that he is recruiting for ND very hard, BOTH sides of the ball, and is a big MFMF guy. To me that's a snapshot of where his mind and heart are at now, if true. I'm not worried and looking forward to seeing how it all plays out. We're for real running with the big boys again guys. Let's buck up, give 'em hell, and act like we belong here.

Also, to repeat this for the nth time, his best friend and QB is a ND ‘23 baseball commit. We’ve got people in our corner. That matters.

And Troy Reader's older brother Tre received a PWO offer for 2022 and will visit this weekend.

I still can't believe he bailed...turned down Alabama to stick with ND, then bolts for North Carolina  He was working to bring guys into ND as a recruit too. We wouldn't have another RB until the next class, which ended up being Dexter and Josh Adams to help fill the void from the previous class...and Dexter took years to become a complete back.

Hood wound up on a couple practice squads and then later the XFL before it folded. Probably should have gotten that degree, I don't think he finished.

Wasn't he an academics casualty?

I wonder what Freeman's policy is with current commits taking visits.

Not much you can do. You can’t kick out high 4 star or 5 star recruits because they want to take visits. That’s what high 4 star and 5 star recruits do.

You know how ND often has a top 5 class and then on signing day it drops to like #14? It’s because most of the elite guys wait until signing day to announce.

We just aren’t used to this because Kelly recruited like a top 25 program not a top 5 program. Freeman wants to be elite and these battles are the only way to get there.

I thought I heard he fell for the “my girlfriend is going to school back home” trap and got cold feet

No way. Hood was the model ND recruit. Eagle Scout, etc. His family were all Tar Heel fans, and his high school GF lured him there. They, of course, broke up and now he's married with a kid to another chick after a subpar college career and career-ending knee injury.

He is Example A of "40 year decision"

Keon had some complimentary quotes about Bama and enjoyed his visit but don’t get the sense ND’s position has changed yet.

When all is said and done, I think Keon is a smart guy and knows we have something special brewing here with Freeman. Can you imagine being part of squad that will restore ND to title status? This should be the ambition. How many players are part of a folklore as revered as ND? The money will follow, but winning a title at ND will earn a lifetime of adulation and respect, as well as totally unique achievement from the past given the era we live in.

A better way to look at these visits is these high talent players are showing the CFB world that they have legit offers at these big programs, but at the end of the day, it’s ND all the way. For too long, the players we have recruited with Alabama offers have been at the bottom of their lists. That’s changing with guys like Keon.

Awesome news. Also seems like there are no other visits scheduled although Florida may get one. Here's to hoping he just shuts it down after the March or April visit.

Visiting March 22nd for a few days and will return for the Spring Game per Loy. Yuge.
Is the March visit confirmed?
Singer visited with him in person over the weekend & he told Singer he was coming in April but that’s “all he knew about ND right now.” Singer mentioned he might visit in March but it was still not scheduled.

Seems like it is on the books. Loy said "on or around" March 22 and that he was staying for a few days. So it seems as confirmed as any.

I don’t have the exact quote but did anyone see on a UF message board an “insider” basically said that Keon is a silent commit to UF but what’s to be respectful to ND.

LOL I’ll believe it when I see it. I trust freeman to get the job done

Yeah the insider was posting from the hospital because he got hit by a drunk driver and had a few broken bones, but had time to check with his sources on Keeley. Guys full of shit.

I am with you NDGOLDEN on Keon's recruitment. During Clausen's recruitment Pete called him before he was packing his bags to leave for ND and Clausen still told him no thanks to USC. In the end I trust Freeman & Golden to hang onto Keeley. This board I am sure will go through many freak-outs during his recruitment.

Lol we aren't losing this kid to Florida. I know South Bend isn't exactly Dubai but Gainesville isn't a step up and the football program there is a hot mess.
