You are correct Elston and Keon have a great relationship. After Kelly left didn’t Keon make a statement something along the lines that he was staying with his commitment due to Elston not leaving…You are also correct every school in America is going to reach out to Keon once the dead period ends. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if Keeley end up at Michigan, which would make me absolutely sick to my stomach. Unfortunately I don’t see him signing with Notre Dame. I would think Florida is the leader with Michigan charging hard for Keon Keeley.

I don’t follow recruiting as closely as others but I assumed Freeman was the difference maker on Keeley?

He loved Elston but he's mature and isn't doing anything knee jerk. He loves ND too but Elston was a really big deal and he wanted to be coached by him.

Interested to see who ND hires. Was always going to take visits cause he likes to travel and covid has only let him see ND and FL. So when he visits don't everyone crap there pants and say "OMG why didn't they just pay Elston" please.

The good news is that when recruiting at a high level, like Bama and Georgia, if you lose a few, you still have a great class. Even with the regime change, we only lost 3. Not too concerned. I like our closer in MF.

I have a feeling he really liked Elston, and will like our new DL coach even more and continue to get extreme interest and he may not stick with us, but it won't have anything to do with Elston.

I think Elston is held in really high esteem because he said some nice things about ND along the way and stayed loyal. I also think he has been a career position coach and thrice passed on for internal promotions, and never gets elite DE to sign.

Elston is overrated, but appreciated.
