Hell of an effort from Atkinson tonight. Laz shot it well too. Pretty quiet game from Goodwin again.
Goodwin and Wesley, no sugar coating it, were just plain bad yesterday. Just one of those nights, hopefully they both shake it off and bounce back on Saturday. Another winnable game at home against GT.

So huge seeing Cormac Ryan, Big F'n Nate and Atkinson step up in a big way yesterday. That was awesome. Every time Nate let one go from beyond the arc I was confident it was going in. That assist from Hubb to Nate on the alley-oop lay-in was sweet, too.

I figured this was an 8th place team that would get into the tournament. In that respect, they have exceeded my expectations.

Wesley was pretty bad on offense last night, something we should be becoming accustomed to. But he did a great job defensively on Buddy Boeheim, much better than Ryan did. Wesley has some real potential as a lockdown defender which adds a new demension to his game.

I have been very impressed with Wesley's defense. Really speaks to his character to see him bust his hump on D when he is being talked about as a one and done.

I think Wesley is definitely coming back one more year. If he can polish off his finishing ability, he will be a top 10 pick. Too many times this year, he misses lay ups or gets completely blocked. He has crazy bounce, but when finishing, he doesn’t. It’s doesn’t really make sense. I want him dunking over punks next year.

I agree here, he plays hard on both ends and you love to see it. He certainly made up for his lack of offense on Wednesday with a strong defensive effort.

I think he will too. He's a very streaky scorer, sometimes scary good when he's on. But he has a little bit of Hubb in him in that he has really poor shot selection and decision making and he forces the issue sometimes.

That being said, I thought Hubb quietly played a really, really good game on Wednesday too. He was a facilitator, moved the ball around on offense and didn't force any shots. He's been a great leader this year.

Yep. Now if we can convince Hubb to only shoot in the last two minutes of the game and in overtime we're set.

I think Wesley 100% needs to come back, with the next recruiting class why wouldn't he, and do we seriously think he is NBA ready?

Next year JJ can bring the ball up and I think Wesley can be dangerous moving without the ball.

There was talk about getting Atkinson back next year, are there talks of that happening?

Its all hypothetical but its worth noting that ND is off the bubble on ESPNs latest Bracketology. Play Xavier in the first round which I believe would be a winnable game.

ND home vs GT @ 5pm, on regular ACC network.

As long as we don’t shit the bed these last three games we will be in the tournament comfortably

You see many later first round picks that aren’t NBA ready especially with 2 way contracts now. He shouldn’t go, and I don’t think he will anymore. The mock drafts that previously had him in the top 15 have cooled a little on him.

Atkinson needs a waiver since the Ivy League doesn’t get the free COVID year. Don’t think there’s been any movement there but thought I read Brey was optimistic about him getting one more

When this team is really moving the ball around, they’re so much fun to watch. I know GT stinks, but still love seeing a dominating win. They weren’t dominating lesser teams like that earlier in the season.

First game with GT went to OT second game was largest margin of victory in 9 years so yeah we’re getting better.

Anyone think this team can win the ACC tournament?
I certainly think we can, but Blake is going to have to be at his peak offensive efficiency to do so, along with Paul continuing his torrid play in the post.

The ACCN commentators said on Saturday that Goodwin already said he's planning on returning next year? I wonder if the whole crew will take advantage of the COVID year and return. This could be a really deep team next year with the incoming Freshman class, the question is does Brey even know how to use a 10 man rotation? lol

Will be an interesting offseason for sure, but I'm looking forward to these guys in the ACC Tourney. Tough one in Tallahassee coming up Wednesday before what should be a cakewalk against Pitt Saturday.

Guys at II don’t think Hubb or Atkinson will be back. Laz is 50/50.

Brey could have 10 consensus AA's on the team and still would only go 7 deep. lol

That annihilation of GT was fun. Feel like they keep getting better as the season wears on.

Double bye for ACC Tourney is especially important with our 6.5 man rotation. Hate that it is in Brooklyn though.

On that note, as the 2 seed, ND would get the 7/10/15 seeds.

7 seed looks like it will be Virginia Tech. 10 Seed is an utter mess. Could be any of Louisville, BC, Clemson, or Pitt. I think we likely want anyone but BC there.

Makes no sense to have the ACC in NY.

Agree with this, BC on paper isn't that good but they blew us out in December and played us very tough at home recently. Maybe third time is the charm and we get the best of them, but I'd like to just avoid those pesky Boston bastards altogether.

Very winnable first game - hopefully get our feet under us without being pushed too hard. Ready to go to war in semis and finals. I will hold out some hope that Wesley can be that NBA level difference maker we need to make a run as the team peaks at the right time.

Would be total Brey move to win another championship after looking like a sitting duck in December. Really gets interesting for next year considering the mix of who returns and how Starling, Lubin and JR can work in to significant minutes knowing that Brey only wants to play 6.
