Nice win for the Irish tonight vs UNC. Wesley and Goodwin had solid games as usual, but the difference in the game was Nate Laczewski. Big fella had his best game of the year and hit huge back to back 3’s late in the game. UNC isn’t what they have been in past years, but it’s still a solid win for the good guys!

I marked us up for dead when Hubb ignored Laz on the wing after he had just hit two threes and threw up some turrible shot he missed. 2-5 from the charity stripe late was also peak Prentiss. Senior guard shooting 40% down the stretch from the line - ooff.

Glad we got the win - didn't look completely inept. Goodwin and Wesley are looking tough.

Hubb had three good games in a row until last night so I wouldn't give up on him. And he and Wesley work well together.

Probably b/c Wesley realizes he can do just about anything that has higher probability of success than giving it back to Hubb.

Just looked it up, Hubb was 2-6 from free throw line on the day - not a D1 PG stat you see very often.

I am not entirely sure how we won this looking at the stats. UNC shot 57% from inside the arc and 36% from three. We shot 53% and 42%. Outrebounded 39 to 27 but only allowed 5 offensive boards to UNC which is where they usually clean our clock. 14 to 7 on turnovers is probably the difference maker. They shot 87.5% from FT, we did 63.6% (all four misses by the PG).

Has there been an update on Robby Carmody's status?

Nothing official that I've heard. His projected return was October 1st. Tom Noie tweeted this on Nov 2nd. Obviously pure speculation, but evidently the limp would've seemed to be pretty severe. Seems like the most likely scenario is him graduating in the spring having never been able to play any significant minutes because of all of his injuries.

Up and down half for ND, they made a run late only to give up a 3 with under 5 seconds to go. Wesley and Atkinson have 12 a piece, the only other player to score was Cormac Ryan.

Well that sucks, he got off to a great start his freshman year. He does seem to be jumping around pretty well on the bench.

I haven't watched much of more recent games where they've been picking up some wins, but they are playing with much more urgency on both sides of the ball than I have seen. A lot more aggressive drives rather than dribbling/passing around the perimeter. Even the zone in the 2nd half so far is more aggressive.

And I think a lot of that is coming from Wesley, he just plays at a faster level than pretty much any ND player in recent memory.

Agreed. Marked improvement in movement from the start of the season. We went far too long (felt like multiple seasons) where we just passed the ball around the circle and then praying for a miracle when someone would have to launch a desperation shot as the shot clock expired.

And a win. Goodwin with some big shots in the OT but the real difference was our defense in OT. Some really bad shots by GT late

If you would have told me we’d be in fourth place in the ACC at any point this season I’d say you were nuts. I thought we’d have a hard time winning any games away from Purcel. Nice five game winning streak. Not ready to say we’ve turned the corner just yet but encouraging signs on both ends of the court.

At this rate, Wesley might be a one and done.

South Bend has produced some badass basketball players in the last decade.

Sucks they have blown a couple games like BC bc they would actually be in really good position right now. GT isn’t good but that’s a tough win in a letdown spot after UNC.

Was at the game, Wesley is electric. We shot pretty poorly, but we did a good job of getting to the basket

He's different from any player I've seen on the court for ND.

And there aren't many players in the country like him either.

Hell, just look at the way he positions himself to get rebounds after the shot. He moves when everyone looks like they're standing still. Hope we can get him another year.

Not trying to start any rumors but just searching the Twitter webz I’m skeptical about Elijah Taylor being with the team.
If true that would leave Brey in another immediate transfer situation for another big.
Still cannot believe that Paul Atkinson couldn’t somehow get a waiver of some sort.

What kind of waiver are you wanting?

Wesley does keep popping up on some mock boards, just FYI.

If he is a first round type guy, great for him and it could still be great for ND. Having representation in the NBA draft is always a good thing.

I feel this team is on the verge of becoming a top 3-5 team in the ACC with the way they are playing and gelling. Wesley knows what's coming next year, I think he stays for at least 3 years.

I think we’ll be lucky to get him back next year. He’s a two year guy max to me.

Wow - doesn't take much for the Kool-Aid to start flowing around here. OT win vs GT who shot 22% from three. Kentucky and UNC are not the UK/UNC that took on Pat and Jerian.

No Kool Aid for me but we are playing much better than we were earlier. Learning how to play with Wesley who can break down every defense. Guys like Goodwin are getting layups. This never happened previously.

The league is really down again this year. Duke is the only team even getting votes in the AP poll and they just lost to Miami at Cameron. We could easily be top four in the league. Not sure if its even a four bid league this year however.
